A perfectly acceptable reason - he deserved it.

Is a difficult one - but as your situation shows - there are times when it is justified.

So I would say in principle, no - but it depends. A woman slapping a man is not the same though as a man slapping a woman - because of the imbalance in physical strenth and size.

No one should hit anyone.

You have to understand that there is a long history of domestic abuse against women for centuries. Men also outweigh women biologically, although that never an absolute. Many women are bigger than men, and many men are small to begin with. You can then refer to what I stated earlier about the historic nature of violence against women.

But alas, no one should be slapping anyone.

The way I see it, if a woman is big enough to throw a punch or a slap at a bloke, they are big eniugh to get one back. If a woman slapped/punched me I would hit them back.

I particularly hate women who slap men for no reason; like they literally just slap you for thrills. Those sorts of people deserve a slap back, but I've never done it because I don't want to be judged over it (which is ridiculous, but that's the way things are!)

Women shouldn't be "allowed" to hit men, and if they do, then it should be considered acceptable for a man to hit back (from society's POV) because it's self defense.

It;s weird. If a couple got in a fight and one of them hit the other, in the law's eyes, had it been the women hitting the man - it's self defense. But if it's the man hitting the women - it's domestic violence.

Imo, it could be tolerated if the woman caught her husband cheating on her, but defenitley not without a reason.

Slapping someone when they have done nothing bad should not happen.

It would still be criminal assault, irrespective of whether the "victim" of the assault were willing to raise a complaint with the police and bring charges.

Chances are, if the victim of the assault did not want to press charges, then the matter would be dropped. I see it through work, almost on a daily basis. Although, the police do not need a complainant to press charges, they rarely will press charges without one.

This is a stupid question. Violence shouldn't be tolerated no matter who is hitting and who is on the receiving end. For those people saying yes to this question then here are some more..

No one should hit anyone. Violence is never acceptable. You cannot hit someoneone regardless of how they've provoked you, what they've called you, if they've cheated on you... there is no excuse.

The answer lies in the fact that women are physically smaller and weaker than men, in most cases. Thus the slap rarely is more than a surprise and does not constitute assault.

It is used to shock rather than injure. If a man slapped a woman it would more likely lead to a reversal of that.

When a woman resorts to slapping a male 99/100 they deserved it and it has the desired affect.

If i have been slapped or punched by a woman for doing somthing wrong id take it and do nothing as im in the wrong, or if it was just a bit of fun.

But if someone actually tried beating me up as in continually punching me in the face... then im not sure what i would do, would at least scare them, probably get them into a hold until i understood what the were doing.

It's not right for a woman to hit a man but a man hitting a women back probably wouldn't be a good idea as they are more likely to cause damage!
