Yeah, Mean Girls was great for what it was but it's not one of the best films ever.

Ahhh IMDB, probably my favourite site. I don't tend to take notice of the top 250 though, plenty of stupid choices.

I reckon I've seen about 200 or so of those listed. Most that I haven't seen are foreign language films that I've not heard much (if anything) about.

I've heard of around 4/250 of them.
What decade are these users living in?

Not just the 00s?

Perhaps you should educate yourself. Bit of a recurring statement this is becoming for you by now Patrick?

Patrick, just turn around and leave the thread. Just because the list isn't filled up with the likes of Saw and Fast and the Furious doesn't make it irrelevent. Go watch some of these films and then comment on them.

Shocked at Leon being so high, but it does deserve it, I enjoyed it.
In Bruges was decent IMO but not that good. Saw both this and Leon in college, didnt think In Bruges was brilliant though.

Gladiator ought to be higher, like the Top 20 maybe.

Very happy for the rating of District 9, possibly the one only film that i enjoyed watching in 2009 in the cinema.

Patrick has a point.
Loads of members go on and just rate these old movies 10 star...
because they are original's most of the time the remakes are better...

Edit:

If it was updated the dark knight would now be in 4th.

Ben? Just get out. Remakes are RARELY ever good the only good ones I can think of are:

Dawn of the Dead - It's brilliant and it managed to **** all over the original.
The Ring - It was on par with the Japanese original.
Friday the 13th - It was on par with the original although that's not hard really.

If anyone can think of any more please say sicne my mind's gone blank.

Most remakes are rushed and made as quickly and cheaply as possible to get a quick buck out of an audience that's familiar with the originals.

Alice in wonderland 1951 im sure..

I've only watched the remake of Miracle on 34th street so I can't comment on the original.
