PLEASE don't turn BB like The Only Way is Essex!

That show is just a trashy guilty pleasure for most of us. Full of people we can laugh at and look down upon with their "shutup" and "whatever". People who can't have a proper conversation. If we want to just see boobs and bums we have bloody porn and magazines!!

For god sake.. no wannabes! Except for the lights of Corin BB11 who yes.. was thick as a plank but was entertaining and out there.

Or Chanelle BB8 who had a few brain cells and could speak some Spanish and play the violin well.

Karly from BB10 was a BORE though. Apparently she was giving it all in the auditions but turned out to be a dullard. Her boyfriend was 10x more entertaining who only stayed in for 6 days while she stayed in for 5 weeks!

Also no one should know each other. lol

If you want young, good looking people... why not get young people in their early 20's who have finished Uni and want a summer in the BB house or who have just come back from travelling? People with intelligence and talent would be good!

Some oldies in their 30s/40s/50s who are healthy of course but have already experienced a full on life. Brought kids up. Worked hard for a living.. etc..

Enough of these dull wannabes!

Unless you are Bex BB9 who wasn't too attractive but she was big and bubbly and up for a laugh!

I couldn't care less if the house was full of ugly people.

ENTERTAINMENT. Look back at bb5 and bb6 for ideas DESMOND!!!!!! Gaaaaah.

Agree fully. I like TOWIE but if BB turns into it I will hate it with a passion.

I really don't think there is any other way for it to go now. Contestants are far too media savvy now.

Stories are planned out depending on what they think is entertaining or what has longevity but is still based on the housemates own actions. The housemates are not given scripts like they are on TOWIE.

You are not understanding.

In the edit process the editors will pick out ongoing stories which they think is entertaining but these come from the housemates naturally WITHOUT THEM BEING TOLD WHAT TO SAY BY SCRIPT. So therfor is not scripted

Stop trying to start an argument coz your bored and home alone with your cats on a Friday night coz i cant be @rsed.

Towie is pretty much the same. There are no scripts just engineered situations. It's easy for producers in BB to do the exact same thing if they wanted. The Essex/Geordie craze will run out soon hopefully so the 2nd season could be a comeback.

Of course TOWIE is scripted. They have to take god knows how many takes. How do you think they get the lighting so right? Fauxmance stories like Mark and Lauren engaged and all that bollocks is part of the shows script. They are both shagging elsewhere in real life. lol

TOWIE is actually scripted ie: the characters are told what to say.

I know people who worked as extras on there and it is 100% SCRIPTED.

BB is manipulated but in regards to being "scripted" the housemates are not told what to say or stand in a certain position for the cameras to get the best angle or reshoot scenes like TOWIE housemates just react naturally to a situation they are in.

If BB is manipulated, then it cannot be considered a natural flow if it is being interfered with in respect of editing etc.

It's precisely the reason why I hold the view I do. There IS manipulation - therefore it is not natural progression without any interference from the BB producers, directors et all.

You can't compare Big Brother highlights show to TOWIE which is actors acting a TV programme. Big Brother is housemates who might on purpose or play it up in the house, but it is not scripted via peice of paper of what to say.

That is what seperates the great BB housemates from the bad. It isn't the same thing.

I can compare - as it is how I personally see the situation, for the reasons I have already mentioned. You may of course disagree, which you clearly do, but that does not mean that your statment of, "You can't compare" is the carte blanche response.

What is your point though mate? Actors are told "AND ACTION" and when to start talking to film a scene. Big Brother on the other hand is different. The housemates in terms of just normal conversations aren't told when to talk. It just happens.

That doesn't mean editing doesn't happen, of course it does. You can't have it being live for 24/7 on Channel 4 as it would be beyond boring and no one would watch it.

It's not that important but it's not totally scripted. The powers producers have over the way housemates act is incredible they have psychologists to teach them how to trigger situations. Also they control the highlights which are completely unfair biased viewing.

Ofcourse it is thats what keeps the show entertaining.

I dont think people realise how hard it is either to condense 24 hours of footage into 50 minutes .
