Are they Army or something? I'd never ever never think of calling someones parents by their Surnames.

Call the Dad 'General' and see how it goes.

..I'm with Joe on this one Marcus, I don't think I would ever feel comfortable being called Mr & Mrs Ammi...I think first names are much better...they're just people like everyone else and calling someone by their name is just a natural thing to do...

I think it also depends on age. Like if you're a 20 year-old man, I think it is wise to say "Nice to meet you, Mr. Jameson, pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mrs. Jameson." And if they're comfortable with you calling them by their first names, they're mature enough to address it. "No, no, Marcus, call us Roger and Betty Lou." Marcus: "Really, Betty Lou?" girlfriend: "OMG."

Get Gemma to introduce you - she will say either "this is my mum and dad - Fred and Wilma" or "this is my mum and dad - Mr & Mrs Flintstone"

I call my inlaws by their first names and always have and I always introduce my parents by their first names (but they do have a really embarrassing surname anyway so I would never voluntarily give that information up).

Just see how it goes

And if Gemma says "this is my mum and dad - Mr and Mrs Flintstone," you need to walk as quickly, but not politely, away as possible, because it's a setup.
