When danny was trying to calm the mighty mouse down at the diary room door, I am almost positive that marc said "then I'm going to kill you" as Danny walked away.

Did anyone else here this, I know it can be difficult to understand the knob, but I am sure after re watching it a good ten times that this is what he actually said.............................................. ...

watch it for yourself, it is the last thing marc says as danny walks away, i added a question mark to the op as i am not 100 percent sure..i'm hoping some irish forum member cculd translate.......and what the **** is "her knacker"

Yeah it is, when I heard him say it I wondered would people complain about it, I'm sure alot of English people wouldn't know what it means but some surely do.

I think that is what he said, but I highly doubt he was literally planning on killing Danny, so there's no problem here

In Ireland knacker almost never means a member of the traveling community but that is the origin of the term. It is a word I don't use personally however because I do think it's a filthy word but his use was no more racial than if he'd called her Asian. The putting down of Americans in the last CBB was a lot more racially charged, as is forum members dropping Marc's ethnicity in insults towards him (vile Irish womanhater etc). Though the contestants in CBB were using more PC language. I think it's a question of context though I wouldn't justify him saying it since I dislike the word myself.

Like when I hear the term I don't think member of the traveling community I think heroin addled waster . When I hear it used it's like "there's a load of knackers horses in that field over there" "There was a fight in the pub last night, it was a group of Knackers" etc etc but it's used to describe a scumbag also here but more like they're that scummy they may as well be Travellers which is just as bad really, if you know what I mean

You're definitely right that that's how it got into general use but I think semantic change has moved it beyond that for a lot of people. I can still see how members of the traveling community would find it horrendously insulting though, regardless of content so I'm a firm believer that it shouldn't be used. I was more so trying to show what he meant rather than excuse his language. Like even reading your examples in my head I see a different group of people when you say that word because they've been essentially disassociated for me. However given how it came into language it does have a bad history. I mean I've met travellers and worked with some and they were nice to me. I understand other people have different experiences but we can't call them all good or all bad, they're people.

I honestly don't believe Mark was referencing the traveling community but it is still filthy language to use and I don't support it.
