Well, to prove the point, how many people on this forum were quick to jump to the defense of Jim Davidson or that other "funny racist" old man a couple of years ago on CBB? The one who said something about "jungle beats". Can't remember his name.

Anyway, plenty of people were very quick to excuse that, including some people who appear to have a problem with this?

I am not Jewish but being quite frank about this, I find any 'supposed' humour pertaining to Hitler or the Nazis,unacceptable and should be offensive,no matter where or who it comes from.

I find everything about Hitler and the nazis and even the very word nazi appalling and a disgrace to mankind for the despicable crimes they carried out on millions..

If he has got into bother on this, then good, in my view.

...I don't know if it's a criminal offence as such but I do tend to agree with TS..I'm not a huge fan of 'taboo' and banning, so should have been allowed on YouTube...we can only know what under the surface holds if it's allowed it's airing, it's the only way it then can be addressed....so freedom of speech, yes and then the freedom of the law to act on that, if it's appropriate to do so and the freedom of reaction of the public to that free speech as well....

The N word i find totally offensive as others on here have already stated and to this day i still find it offensive BUT for me it is even more offensive to find rap artists still using this term that they themselves find offensive. It should not be used by anyone. Yet they continue to include this term to sell records.

Well okay, I think it is clear I don't get humour on here a lot of the time,that is how I am.

I found the video offensive because of the continued sort of programming of the Dog and also the repeated content of the wording which I found unnecessary.
All very well to want to annoy someone else,in this case his girlfriend but keep it only between the 2 of them or close friends/family, not allow it to get into the public domain anywhere.

He for sure in my view, had a prepared negative Hitler/Nazi theme for this.

Is it criminal,maybe not,however anything that is or could be offensive to groups of others and is identifiable to the person who made it, may well be.
Really sick was how I found this video myself.

However, this is why from another thread I said this on,I do think there needs to be a new and full clarification of what is acceptable in the public domain of social media or anywhere else as to what would be termed racism or anti semitic content.
People may genuinely be doing things as a joke but jokes and pranks can go wrong and can even be used to promote more sinister thinking too.

I think it right the Police thought this worth a look at.
Wanting to annoy his girlfriend for whatever reason I can understand,however the full content of this video and the more it went on with the repeated theme would send alarm bells ringing for me that this 'could' have been far deeper than just being a joke.

Great post Joey. That last part made me think further... because the whole excuse of wanting to annoy his girlfriend also begs the question... why video it and post it on youtube? This wasn't just about him wanting to train the dog to annoy his girlfriend, he wanted the world to laugh along with him at how funny it is to trivialize the events of the holocaust. Regardless of if he's racist (not that it's unimportant, I just don't know if he is or not), he is insanely ignorant. (As a side note, let's say he HAD made this with the sole intent of annoying his girlfriend... if that was me and I came home to find my partner had trained our dog to do a nazi salute, and he was going round the house shouting 'gas the Jews' thinking it was funny, I wouldn't find it 'annoying', I'd be absolutely mortified! So even if his excuse is completely genuine, it's still kind of shocking to think that him and his girlfriend find it totally acceptable and funny, even in a private setting.) And it's not about being overly PC, South Park's been mentioned a couple of times and that's one of my all time favourite shows, but there's context behind their shows when they deal with things like this. And 'context' is also why it's different when Jews or other minorities make self-referential jokes. But to me, this isn't comparable because the only context he's offered is "I want to annoy my girlfriend", which doesn't fly for me for the reasons I mentioned.

He was clearly going for "controversial humour" like, say, Frankie Boyle, with the problem being that it wasn't a very clever attempt at controversial humour. I'm a fan of controversial humour and this video just wasn't funny... not because it was offensive to me or upset me in any way... just because it straight up WASN'T funny. It was basic, longwinded and boring. I guess that's where the problem lies? When you use something controversial in an attempt at dark humour, and it isn't actually FUNNY at all, then all you're left with is the words themselves and their very real associations.

So yeah, he just wanted to post something controversial in an attempt at being funny and gaining some "internet fame", and being clearly unimaginative, he thought "Hmmm what's controversial? Nazis. I'll say something about Nazis and Jews derp lolol". It's just the first thing he thought of. On another day he might have thought of a different "generic controversial topic" and had the dog respond to that. I don't think he really gave that part much thought at all.

Ironically, it wouldn't have gained anything like the traction or notoriety that it did if it had just been left alone as another crappy YouTube video. The police and press attention has resulted in the original youtube video getting nearly 2 million jews
