He's a bliddy hypocrite more like . I will never forget his nasty humour. So he can stop trying to take the moral high ground.

case the comedians fault. Cancel comedians. We don't want people like Ricky Gervais roasting us privliged people. Last edited by Alf; 30-03-2022 at 02:14 PM. |

Ricky Gervais was worshiped for his roasting of Hollywood people, he was saying things like they hang out with paedos and all sorts.
So Chris Rock has one question for you trying to say he did wrong here. Last edited by Alf; 30-03-2022 at 02:33 PM. |

When British comedians go across the pond ie Ricky Gervais ,James Corden etc ,then there's resentment at the jokes. And it's always called 'controversial' and they get a bit of a dressing down. But whoever the comedian is ,if a joke is seen as offensive especially nowadays then it will make headlines. But Chris Rock & Will Smith are only making headlines because of the slap , otherwise that GI Jane silly joke probably would have just gone by like nothing. |

Would have been funnier if it was a white actor hitting him...the world would have melted.

Will Smith was right.
A man mocked his wife's medical condition and her appearance, in front of millions of people. He's lucky he got a slap and not a punch. And I think Will was going for a punch until he pulled himself back at the last minute. I'm sure all the people backing Rock would politely stand back and smile if someone ripped the piss out of their partner's medical condition. The fact that the academy asked Will to leave and is now considering banning him is ****ing lunacy. Expecting a man not to react in a situation like this is laughable. |

I think it's time for some alopecia jokes on here today. Sadly Jada won't see them, well that's hair loss. Last edited by Alf; 31-03-2022 at 09:38 AM. |

I don't even think Chris Rock knew about her medical condition though tbf. Should he have researched why she shaved her head? Maybe but that still doesn't give anyone the right to hit him and I'm surprised anyone thinks violence is an appropriate reaction to words. What kind of a lawless messed up society would we be in if you could just go around hitting anyone who said something we didn't like?

None of them.
The joke was cruel but it was still a joke and that's exactly what Chris Rock gets paid to do. Assault is never OK. Will could have defended his wife perfectly well without lifting a hand. Last edited by Josy; 31-03-2022 at 10:19 AM. |

That hairstyle is quite fashionable at the moment so it couldn't really be assumed it was necessary. Award shows are well known thanks to Gervais for upsetting and offensive comments by hosts. As you said Smith could've found another way to support his wife.

Apparently EVERYONE in showbiz or who even casually follows showbiz news would know about her Alopecia . She’s apparently been very public about it to raise the general awareness since 2018 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Last edited by Zizu; 31-03-2022 at 04:38 PM. |

It’s a ‘saying’ .. it seems ridiculous that such a high profile comedian who makes a living out of jokes about people and their situations didn’t know about her well documented condition. Chris Rock and the Smith family have ‘history’ as well which makes it even more likely that he knew but made a bad error of judgment. ## It later emerged that there was more to the story, as Chris had previously also cracked a joke about Jada at the Oscars. The comedian, who was hosting the Oscars in 2016, had roasted Jada's efforts to boycott the award ceremony. She had made a video announcing she was boycotting the 2016 Oscars as 'no persons of colour were nominated' in any of the major acting categories, which included her husband Will.
