Overly camp people annoy the **** out of me and I do use the term 'gay' when something is annoying me but that doesn't make me homophobic imo. I mean live and let live and all that. Seeing homosexual people kissing doesn't make me cringe or anything like that so I'd say I'm fine with it really.

Misuse of the word isn't homophobic, just offensive, and insulting, to some people. That's why I refrain from using it, and don't like the misuse of it. It's not that it insults me, either, but I've just never understood the reason why it has become such a popular word to misuse, but as you have said, live and let live, I suppose.

I don't even know why I started saying it tbh, probably one of those things you pick up from people you spend your time with and don't even notice you're doing it. I didn't mean live and let live with regards to that by the way lol, I meant live and let live with regards to sexuality.

I used to say it all the time when I was younger as well, so I know what you mean! It wasn't until I realised I was misuing it that I decided to stop.

I'm against referring to people of a similar genetic trait - sexuality, ethnicity, gender - as a 'group'. You can't singlehandedly refer to 'the gays' or 'the blacks'; people are people. Judge them as that, and not for what colour their skin is or what they get off on.

The issue of camp men has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with homophobia - the act of homosexuality is same-sexual relationships, not how much you squeal at the new River Island collection.
