Yes he was, infamous! The villain you love to hate... I hated him so much but he was entertaining as hell. You can hate him but he was very smart, he never won because of his bad social game but he was quite crafty and if Jeff Probst has him on the top players list, must be for a reason.

the lack of a Big Brother figure really makes the US version worse in my opinion. I want to see Big Brother taking control and playing with the HMs. The US version leaves it all up to the HGs and relies too much on previous HGs and unfair competitions to cause drama and push certain HGs along.

I forgot to mention the thing that bugs me most about the US BB.
The fact that the viewers have no input or bearing on the show or no way to redress the balance (apart from choosing which food the have-nots eat.....boring!).
The whole idea of BB is the old "Who goes, You Decide!!!" thing, although that's not even used in the UK BB any more either really.
I suppose " Who Stays, You Can try and Decide if you Vote Millions of Times for the One you Dislike the Least!!!" doesn't really have the same ring to it.

also bbuk does another smart thing the us version should adapt, wrap up the season before it gets boring, the us goes down the final 5-4-3-2 and the feeds become a borefest by the end, uk does it all in one night, the feeds are really the only way to watch the us version, the regular tv show leaves way too much out

It's no contest for me. BBUK celebrates its show more than any reality show deserves while BBUS is nearly a mockery of the spirit of what the show is all about. That said, I watch both and enjoy them, but one more than the other...by far. BBUK by a mile.

If you watch BBUS, you need to watch the feeds as well to really appreciate. One things for sure, the BBUS feed is much better than the BBUK feed. There's CONSTANTLY something going on in the BBUS feed, it's never boring. Because somebody is always strategizing or gossiping.

Russell's not a love to hate figure, he's just a pure hate figure. He wasn't very smart at all. He shot himself in the foot multiple times and killed his chances of winning each and every episodes. and lol @ Jeff Probst's opinion meaning anything. You must be new to Survivor.

I like the gameplay format of BBUS better (the HoH, PoV, etc) but I like the way BBUK episodes are edited and the involvement of Big Brother in BBUK better... So it's really hard for me to choose.

I don't really understand the hatred some say they have for Russell, in fact I think it is more love to hate with most of them. Survivor is a ruthless game and Russell has shown up some of the idiots on the show (some of the worst gameplayers ever are on Survivor). Russell MADE the whole Samoa season. He won the final immunities in both Samoa and HvV. No doubt that he is one of the biggest stars there has been on the show.

It's still much better than the editing on BBUS. I feel like if I didn't watch the feeds last year I would have no idea what actually happened in BB13 US. It's always been bad but it seems to be getting significantly worse as the years go on.

There's hatred for Russell because he ruined Survivor. It's laughable that you're saying Russell's showing up some of the worse gameplayers ever because Russell's right there with them. He sucked at the game every season he came on and there's no way anyone can justify that he was robbed of a victory. He didn't make Samoa, he made it into one of the worst seasons. It's like how people say Aaron made BB12. People don't see the correlation that BB12 is the worst season ever and it was an Aaron-centric season. Just like how Samoa's one of the worst seasons and it was a Russell-centric season.

But I didn't bump up this thread just to argue that point, I'm not psycho. I just bumped up this thread to announce that Quirkydude's second channel BigBrotherEpisodes was deleted so to people like Yayita who gave lostalex and myself ****, just wanted to say I told you so.
