As an Aston fan, I don't blame Mollie. She shouldn't have been in the dance off. Should have been Ruth.

Ruth has a lovely personality, but Anton is ruining her by wanting to go purely on comedy, while her quickstep and tango were good without the comedy, and that fall at the end of this week's dance very cringeworthy

How? She’s made it through to week 8 without being in the bottom 2 they are doing something right and it’s working and unlike aston fans her fans voted

You can't possibly know that. It's more likely that Mollie would have left with the public vote alone as she got good marks from the judges last week and was still in the bottom 2, then bottom 2 again this week.

Well because of the way the voting works, we can presume that Austin wasn't doing too well with the public vote. He's no more popular now than he was at the beginning of the series, maybe even less so, so we can safely presume he would have been eliminated ages ago had it been down to public votes alone. But yes, Mollie too would have been eliminated a while ago probs.

Ruth is the worst dancer though. It's a dancing competition, not a popularity competition. There are some idiots out there who don't even know/care what the show is actually about.

Again, you can't possibly know how popular he was or how many votes he got in previous weeks. Maybe people thought he was a cert to be saved because he's so good, or maybe they didn't like that particular dance as much as they liked his dances in previous weeks? There are many people (like myself) who vote for the best dance of the night, not because they blindly follow someone no matter how crap they are (like Ruth!)

Yeh. But mostly it's a popularity contest which is why Ruth is doing well. Aston has been pretty much disliked by most people since his first ever tv appearance. So. Just seems more likely that he was never doing well with the public rather than his large fan base all suddenly turning on him because the judges didn't like him very much one time.

Ruth is really likeable and although not a great dancer, she is trying really hard.

However, she does have 2 strong sets of supporters.
This Morning viewers and now Loose Women viewers too.
Two sets of formidable viewers and supporters to have.

You are correct that people need to vote otherwise the surprise losses will continue.
I am never surprised, there's only a bare half hour of voting,on that time anything can result.
The judges votes are near meaningless the points awarded are really small.

I also said this the other week,I actually know a good number of people who vote as to who was dancing to a particular song.
One thing's for sure,as former head judge Len said something like, 'you can't moan if you don't pick up the phone'.

Of course it's a popularity competition.

If it was dancing only then the decisions would be left to the experts. Not Mary from Tesco sat watching with a giant bag of Quavers.

That's what I said, some of the public are idiots, like Mary from Tesco sitting stuffing her stupid face. Many of us aren't however, which is why a really good dancer always wins the show, not a crap one like Ruth.

Ruth was at an even bigger disadvantage and she wasn't in the bottom two yet was bottom of the leader board.
