Depends what the person in question consider themselves I suppose. If you are living in NI and consider yourself Irish then you are Irish in my eyes, and belong to what should be a 32 county ROI. No treaties or borders or anything can change that. Your Irish just like me.

If you consider yourself English and you live in NI well then I can't possibly consider that person Irish for obvious reasons. If they don't want to be they evidently aren't.

Thanks for clearing that up. I just always had some idea, perhaps wrongly, that people from the republic viewed the whole of the northern ireland as British, when I don't consider that true, just because there's a border around six counties doesn't make us any less Irish than the rest of the island, I consider myself Irish and was even brought up through the Irish language :P
