What I didn't like about Sam's win is that when it got down to just him and Dexter the producers only left the phone lines open for one minute or two max. Now how is that fair on Dexter? He wasn't even given a proper chance to catch up in the votes unlike other finals where the phone lines are open for a lot longer between the final 2 than it was last night between Sam and Dexter.

And I honestly don't think that the producers realize how serious people are about switching off after Sam's win, I've seen people be unhappy at winners in previous BB's before but never to this extent, I think the producers will be in for a shock when CBB airs on Thursday night, I'm predicting record lows for CBB's Launch Night.

Indeed it's not just a case of people being disappointed about their own favourite not winning or 'sour grapes'.

There seems to be genuine concern that such an abysmal housemate winning could be damaging for BB's future.

Since the VIEWING public voted him as the winner, I don't see the logic in what you are saying.

But SAM only won because GINXER split each others vote, plus why did they only leave the phone lines open for a minute when it was between Sam and Dexter?

Nonsense. People make excuses every year as to why their fave didn't win. It could equally be said that Sam/the twins could have split each others votes.

I don't get the significance of how the phone lines only being open for a minute would affect the outcome of a vote.

Sam was treated far too generously by BB on shows like BOTS. The producers should be encouraging the public to vote uninteresting housemates out, not positively promoting them...... "so sweet" etc (of someone who, it turns out, is a bit of a yob - but that's another story!)

Inevitably this has an effect on voting.

Then there is the VTE v. VTS issue. Personally I would back the return of VTS but only if noms become noms to save and not to evict.

Sam could have been out in about week 3, which would be about right, IMO.

Meh. The rightful winner is whoever gets the most votes

Dexter (and Gina) made the show this year though, and were ****ing fantastic housemates. They will be remembered when most people look back on this years show, not Sam. Much like when people think of BB6 they think Makosi, not Anthony

Every other Housemate from that year is thought about before people think of Anthony.

Even Orlaith.

The winner is always remembered. They enter the exclusive winners club.
I bet most people on this forum can reel off every winners name.

I can remember ever winners name (excluding CBB as I dont really watch it) if I think hard enough. Its easier to name those who come to mind immediately when I think of the series though. And the only winners who fit that for me are Kate, Nadia, Pete and Aaron :S

Even Craig doesnt come to mind when I think of BB1. And I loved him. But its always Nick and noone else

We couldn't vote while the Dome was on, the voting lines closed before it started. Once the 2nd part began we were straight into the announcement of who won virtually.

If Dexter was the rightful winner, Emma would have said that he won when she announced the winner, but she didn't... you know why? Because the majority of the voters saw what a bitch Gina was and saw what a massive knobhead Dexter was.

Sam won, deal with it.

I do find it funny that people who admire Dexter for "playing the game, because it's a gameshow" just can't admit the obvious truth: Sam played a better, more clever game. He flew under the radar until the last week and then did just enough to be noticed and crowned winner.

Was it as entertaining a game to watch as Dexter or Gina's? No... but... The aim of the game is to win, not to entertain, and he played it perfectly. Both Dex and Gina overplayed their hands early and had run out of steam by the end... They were still doing their best but lets face it, Gina peaked in the safehouse and Dexter peaked in the week before Callum left. they both limped to the finish line after Callum and Hazel were out.

In all seriousness, compare Dexters game to Aaron, who somehow kept his momentum going right until the last day. Dexters gameplan is complex, but amateurish in comparison. Sam on the other hand went for a simple classic... the "craig from big brother 1", after all. Stay simple, stay quite, have a his moment of standing up to the "nasty nick". Done, dusted, £100,000.

God, are people still banging on about Dexter being the rightful winner? What is it that some people see in Dexter? All I see is a comical, sleazy, awkward, embarrassing fantasist who wouldn't last five minutes in the PR world. Honestly... if people think Dexter is really intelligent and a deep thinker, they're going to crap their pants when they mean someone really intelligent.

Sam wasn't the most sparkling housemate ever, but considering the final five, he was by far the best of the bunch.

That's what I sort of liked about him . Sort of like a clown. I didn't want him to win, though, he was not a deserving winner. He tried to play a game but, ultimately, it was a failed game so why should he win? 2nd place was just about right for Dexter... sums up all of his game plans nicely: "Almost there, but not quite". Couldn't get people to believe or follow him, didn't have the testicular fortitude to take down Callum properly, couldn't quite get the girl in his fauxmance...

... and he introduced the line "I'm not gonna lie..." which was taken up by every bloody housemate and drove me i n s a n e !

I do get what you mean, he was quite entertaining to watch, which I suppose is a throwback to the Victorian's interest in freak shows.

I think that actually sums up this whole year quite well! It was basically one big carnival. The only "normal people" were Sam, Sophie, Hazel, Charlie and Jackie, and (unfortunately) Daley... and none of those were particularly good people. The rest were a selection of oddities picked out to be oggled at like weird little critters in a zoo.

Well they might be oddities to you, but I like to call it having a bit of character and not being generic, bland, looking the same that you see alot of nowadays.

There are so many interesting people in the world, I just don't understand why they give us a houseful if fantasists and misfits. You can be entertaining and funny and beautiful and intelligent. I know people like that in real life... why can't BB find a houseful of them? I'd also like a cross-section of ages in there. When they put an older housemate in they're usually a pain in the arse, and that's not my experience of older people generally. I think they should put you and I in charge of housemate selection TS. We could only do a better job.

I know it's hilarious. He wouldn't last 5 seconds in this industry.... trust me!

He thinks spending almost 70 days in the BB house is tough... LOL...He'll be eaten up, spat out and trodden on in the time it takes him to say "I'm not gonna lie".

Ah, is that your line? I know a couple of people who work in PR and a friend has her own small agency and they're all just about as different from Dexter as anyone could be. They're smart, driven, astute and they don't labour to find the right word. He's just ridiculous.
