...the way you made him a part of her, I love that...and her story is just beginning really, she has so much to discover about herself and the crystals ...and she’ll always feel that he will be part of that journey with her......I’m a bit bereaved, I didn’t expect that ...but I’ve loved the story, Scarlett...you have created such a wonderful array of characters and creatures and your style of writing...?..is so visual, it’s especially so when we can almost see the destruction of the fallen towns around them...I feel totally familiar with your characters and the journeys in your stories are quite gripping and very exciting....I loved it, thank you for a great read......

Killing him off was one of the hardest decisions I had to make, but it added a lot more gravity to the situation, Pyre was one of the most explosive parts of the story yet.

...yeah, I can imagine how difficult it is to kill off a character like Dex because he’s such a key character to the friendship group and to Roisin in particular...it also obviously means that changes to her character have to be made as well..?...so that’s a really brave decision for you to have made...I do think though, Scarlett...that you did it really well because Roisin obviously has a huge discovery to make of herself/her powers/and the crystals, anyway...so you’ve now left that open with less restrictions for her, you’ve left her oath very free..?...when we watch great TV series that have sustained their popularity..?...one of the things we’ve liked about them is that they haven’t been afraid to give us that ‘shock’ and kill off key character swiftly and suddenly...as Dex was killed...it leaves open for more character development, I think....and it’s a very brave decision...I may have felt sad but I think you’ve done the right thing, tbh...

Indeed, Roisin's character does change as a result of both the loss of Dex, and because of what Skylar did. Memories of Ice isn't as bombastic as Pyre, but it focuses more on the characters

Yeah, there were several differences that didnt work well

It was more focused on the path of chaos that Crystalla was headed down, and also, Dex lived on as a voice in Roisin's head. It just didn't work

....awwww, I didn’t realise you’d been made redundant from your job, I’m so, so sorry, Scarlett......it’s been such a time, eh...in so many different ways...but having your writing to focus on has been such an important thing and I’m glad it’s helped...but you’re also a gifted writer so I hope that you’ll continue to pursue this also...and I really hope with all of my heart that it all works out in October and you’re working again......such a worrying time for you...the chapters btw are not rough, they’re as excellent as any other...I’m just not good with either heights or confined spaces, even reading about them makes me feel quite peculiar because I’m a bit weird like that......but I’m reading chapter 13/Escape..so hopefully I’m on my way out, heading for that exit...

We were one of the first companies to collapse (Shearings) so it was back in May, the hotels have been bought though and are 100% reopening in October, just keeping my fingers crossed that the staff are offered their old positions

That's what I've thought too, by the time they can start hiring they'll have a very short space of time to hire, so offering old staff jobs would work much better

Me too! They have the former manager caretaking the hotel right now, it seems likely he will be taken on as new manager, if he is, then I can see us all returning for sure

...and he will be taken on, they wouldn’t ask him to caretake if that wasn’t their intention..so I think it all looks really positive and hopeful and the last few months has just been a kick back for you, just a slow down of life’s routine and a time to catch up on other things...
