Why So Serious?
|
That's gotta be the best penultimate episode of the series!
Poor Brock, really hope he pulls through, Gus takes his villain status to another level by having Tyrus poison Brock, framing Walter in the process, manipulating Jesse into thinking Walt was behind it all. That showdown between the two main protagonists tho. Jesse wouldn't be able to live with himself if he'd killed Walt then and there. Glad they realised what had happened and decided to end Gus once and for all. That ending was extremely intense, had me on the edge of my seat throughout. It felt like something out of 24. Gus' spidey sense was clearly tingling, knowing death awaited him once he entered his car. I really thought he would've spotted Walt spying on him from the rooftop. Quickly going out now, I'll watch the finale once I come back. |

Holy crap what an explosive finale! Brilliant from start to finish!
Lmfao at Hector when he wasted Hank and his fellow DEA agents' time, making out like he was gonna give them vital information, but only cursing at Hank. The rivalry between Gus and Hector came to an explosive end, in one of the most shocking and compelling moments of the series, the hatred between them was so deep, enemies since the beginning, enemies to the end. Gus' death was perfectly executed, truly a jaw-dropping moment that you can't take your eyes off. I remember the first time that I watched it and thought he survived when he walked out seemingly unharmed, only to see half his face blown off. Gus has been an entertaining, compelling, fantastic, sympathetic, love to hate villain. The show wouldn't be the same without him. The biggest WTF moment came at the end when it's revealed that it was Walt who indeed poisoned Brock and not Gus as I (and many people) had thought. Damn, Walt was savage for doing that, and then manipulating Jesse into thinking it was Gus and having him help him kill Gus. That's cold. Walt is turning into Gus himself. Season 4 has been incredible, best one yet, season 5 has a lot to live up to. |

I don't think I commented on Season 5 yet but I'm really liking this start with the new-ish storyline coming in to play
![]() Spoiler: Ep 4 Spoiler: Maybe not the most action-packed but episodes 3 & 4 for this season have been really great. Excellent build up / storyline progression episodes

This season has a lot of potential to be the best season yet for me. It's all been amazing throughout but this season feels fresh/new with Gus dead now. I'm loving S5 already and yet it feels like a slow build atm where things will pick up even more later on. Also, hearing that some of the last few episodes are the best of the series gives me a lot of hope
![]() Side note: I like how this whole show basically takes place all within one year!

Just started season 5.
Walt is becoming so unlikable. It's finally confirmed in this episode that he did indeed poison Brock. He must have a death wish or something with the way he spoke to Mike, telling him so confidently and bravely ''because I say so.'' after the trio's attempt to destroy Gus' laptop which could incriminate all three. Mike and Jesse weren't expecting that. And then how he threatened Saul at the end, saying ''we're done when I say we're done.'' I thought he was gonna beat him to a bloody pulp. Poor Ted, I couldn't help but feel sorry for him after his accident. And him being so scared of what could happen to him that he'll remain silent over what caused his injury. Poor guy. |

Tony, I think when I was defending Skylar earlier in the thread it was with the knowledge that Walt really became a ****

Finished episode 2.
Mike is so badass, I'm really liking him more in each episode. Despite his occupation, he seems like a nice guy and is only doing this for his granddaughter, ensuring she has a good life, similar to Walt. That was an epic scene when he knew he was being set up when Chow called him asking him to come to his house on the orders of Chris, another hitman and associate of Mike, and got the jump on Chris, killing him in the process. Poor Chow, he didn't deserve to die. Mike also had a heart when he spared Lydia, the Madrigal executive who asked him to kill eleven men from Gus' operation in order to tie up any loose ends, an offer Mike refused, to which she then offered it to Chris. I really thought Mike was gonna kill her when he ambushed her in her house, I guess her little daughter must've reminded him of his own granddaughter. I'm suspicious of Walt's intentions of staring up the meth business again with Jesse and Mike. I know he's in debt after Skyler gave money to Ted and paid for Hank's physical therapy, but there's gotta be an ulterior motive.

That's part of the beauty of the show I think, the character development, his transformation from the first episode to later on in the series is crazy but also so gradual

That Walt and Skyler showdown was so epic! When Skyler said she hoped his cancer would return and kill him was brutal. And then Walt showing her the wristwatch that Jesse gave to him as a birthday present and said that she would forgive him in no time just like Jesse did when he wanted him dead too, ugh what a manipulative prick!

Episode 7 is my new favorite episode ever. Of anything. Period.
Without spoiling anything detailed for Tony, the first 5 mins are EPIC, the next ~30 mins are entertaining and great buildup, and the last ~10 minutes are INSANE ![]() Now in spoiler: Spoiler:

Oh & my friend is just a dumbass for saying S4 > S5
S5 is already better in 7 episodes (and this is no shade to S4 at all, this show is just crazy good ) and supposedly S5 is only just getting started. (but he's now agreed that S5 is better now that he's thought about it, he just loved the Gus Fring character which I do agree with that... he was a really interesting character that did add a LOT in his time on the show)I just can't believe the development in some of these characters by S5 ![]() EDIT: Right now: S5 (already #1) > S4 >>> S3 > S2 > S1 but 1 has that early stage nostalgic factor that makes me want to rank it up to 3rd best for the show. All 5 seasons must be my 5 favorite seasons in TV show history tho, it's just truly worthy of this kind of hype

Ugh reading this is definitely making me want to rewatch. I have definitely loved other shows more in their peak but there's nothing that beats Breaking bad imo as a a whole

I forgot to mention I loved the scene in episode 4 of Walt and Walt Jr watching Scarface.
This show has definitely been influenced a lot by that film. Fun fact: Two actors from Breaking Bad had appeared in Scarface - Steven Bauer (Don Eladio) played Tony's best friend, and Mark Margolis (Hector) played one of Sosa's henchmen. |
