That ' I'll leave' move was gross.
Plus, who is she to say that she knows what's good for pensioners over them? Arrogant and manipulative. People saying 'it's a game', yes it is you are right, but you can tell a LOT about a person in how they choose to play a game. When they show you who they are, believe them.

I think she has come into the house with the idea of being the next Greta type "celeb". I think the climate change thing is her story and she will shout about it at every chance she gets.

I like her, she'll either be an early exit though or fly under the radar for quite some time. We'll see.

I agree with MysticMock that she doesn’t understand how the Royal Family is funded. She also showed no awareness of the money they bring into the country through tourism, or the workforce that supports. I’m not a massive Royalist, but I respect the monarchy as it is part of our history and heritage, and personally I think it is important to maintain our traditions, especially when they are such a draw to tourists from other countries. |

At least the residents of the UK get an ROI in generally positive presentations across the world in some form. Our overspending doesn't even give us that credibility. I'd much rather pay to promote our history, rather than an endless stockpile of bombs, planes and misc equipment to go to countries where most people here can't even find it on a map... and that doesn't even include the other crap we fund... I would say the Monarchy pays for itself in PR alone. Even if I don't "see the point" to a Monarchy in my own country, I see what it offers the UK in terms of traditions shared via a national identity. It's a cheaper way to do it than what the US has been doing over the past decade or so. Shared identity is very important, especially in nations that are multicultural in origin... |

Until the Queen’s death I always thought I could give all take the monarchy, but suddenly we lost someone and something that had been ever-present, and I personally experienced feelings of great insecurity and uncertainty. I felt as if I was on a little dinghy in the expanse of an ocean, without any land in sight. That opened up my mind to the sense of stability, strength and safety the presence of the monarchy gave me, as it is so deeply rooted in the history, traditions and culture of our country. It was then I realised that I needed it there as a continuing presence. I also felt so very proud of the British people and how we responded as a country. We came together and were united as one entity. As a country, it allowed us to show the best of ourselves, our values and our characteristics as people. In addition, it was so amazing and so very touching to see the impact that the Queen’s passing had around the world, and in countries that I would never have expected our monarchy to have any relevance, importance or respect. It felt global, and as if the world had also come together because of something so very British. I will never forget President Macron saying something like ‘ To the British people, she was their Queen, but to the world she was the Queen’. It was one of many beautiful things said that stays with me and still makes me emotional even now. As a result I had to ask myself how could we, as a country, fail to see the value of our Royal Family? I love Charles as a King, as he is so connected to the people, and demonstrates warmth, strength, affection and appreciation where ever he goes. I think he is wonderfully in touch with his emotions and his people.. I admire his values too, and can now recognise how far ahead of his time his thinking has always been. I see him almost as the Father of our country, and he has brought back that feeling of safety and security I thought was lost. Last edited by Garfie; 09-10-2024 at 11:55 PM. She reminds me of one of those protestors with her Socialist Worker placard at a Hamas rally getting interviewed
Interviewer: "I notice you are chanting From the River to the sea?" Daze: "yeah Free Free Palestine" Interviewer: "what river and what sea?" Daze: "wot..er wait I do know this...is it the Severn river and the Irish sea"?

I find it funny, how people are judging Daze ... like the other housemates wouldn't have pulled a similar trick
. Plus she still stayed good on her promise to Lily ,so I don't get the fuss . Yes she guilt tripped her...but it still worked out for them & for Emma aswell . And Nathan getting salty is a bit rich ,when he probably would have done everything he can to save himself....if he didn't quit early on. It's a game ...hate the game not the player, both Lily & Daze wanted it badly. And neither would have quit, so it made more sense for Daze to do something like that , if you don't like how she did it then ok ...but I still think it was clever for one of them to make a pact / agreement ( I bet little screaming baby Lily would have gotten a pass if she pulled the same stunt ) , otherwise....they both probably would still have their arm in the air now, I doubt BB wouldhave crowned both as winners , they probably would have needed to send emergency help. I still don't know how they managed 2 & a half hours! ... that's crazy.

I wouldn't say awful. It's a game? And she did bring Lily to the House. But it will get her nominated.

Daze is doing herself no favours. My impression of her on the opening night was positive, but she has now displayed too many aspects of her character that I don’t have any time or respect for. Personally, I’ll be glad to see the back of her.
