I've been making my own wine for around a year now....its actually really nice if you've got the right gear, keep the right temp and buy the more expensive kits. Just got a cheeky shiraz fermenting at the mo. Works out so much cheaper but you got to have the willpower to not go mad when you have 30 bottles ready to drink.

I'de love to do that Annie,I just haven't got time, do you make all different kinds ? We tried beer once and it was a right disaster,lol.

Have only done reds so far....rioja, merlot and shiraz. Am going to try a fruit cider though for summer.

Its dangerous though, the first time I did it I honestly thought I'd done something wrong as I didn't think it tasted alcoholic, till I woke up the next day, still fully clothed, on the couch with a terrible headache

Remindes me off the time I was up looking after my little sisters house while she was on holiday..the cat needed fed....she was in one of those wine clubs....omg the things I was doing 4 bottles down at half five in the morning....like pernod....wine very very rarely gets touched these days.

I get a lot of wine from auctions. My last 30 bottles worked put at around 3 quid a bottle and this was 20- 30 quid a bottle 2o years ago wine than now tastes amazing

Pretty dumb to leave the drink on the bar expecting a barman who's serving customers to watch it .

That's like leaving it on a table in a bar / club and
Telling people "don't you dare spike my drink " , careless & very silly.

Just buy a new drink or go to the toilet first then buy a drink .

Well I CAN'T help you there . If you're on your own though don't expect the barman doing his job to watch your drink .

And It's petty beyond to get police involved ,pretty sure they have more important things to worry about like stabbings & other crimes ! .

No..I was the only person standing at the bar for a good 20 minutes before I went for a pee..came back up and there were some of the table lot buying drinks....



Interesting fact......I'm in Shoreditch again..wasn't going to stop of for a drink but it started sleeting so had to nip in quick to the golden heart...blame LT and his contagious sleet remarks...the swine.

Well if the bar wasn't busy I see no reason why a member of bar staff couldn't keep their eye on your drink for you. I would have... I've worked behind a bar (a job that's hard and thankless...). They were right to give you another drink.
