That's his view whether religious or not , views are everybody's right. it only becomes a problem if its hateful or the person discriminates based on beliefs/views, none of that applies with his conversation.

they aren't different subjects. race and sexuality are both things that people are both with. so how exactly are they so different?

He is obviously of the opinion that if 'Homosexuality' could be cured, ...just like other 'physical discrepancies' [leg alignment issues, was his example] then in his view, they ought to be attended to!
Well!...what's wrong with that??...nothing if you ask me!...I have several homosexual grand-kids and one great-granddaughter that I couldn't possibly love any more than I already do!...I would have loved them to have had the opportunity to have had the same life as the rest of us!
No matter how pc you would like me to be....I will never make myself believe that being gay is what nature intended, and i'm of the firm opinion that no-one would have ever chosen to be gay if they had the choice before being born.
...But if by some miracle we had come up with some wonder-drug that gave a teenager the choice?...and my grandkids chose to remain gay...then so be it!...So long as it was their choice and not a bow to some weird pc conformity...and they were happy...then I would be just as happy as they were!!

My Nan is very religious too, people call her Dot because of how devout she is but she's not narrow minded enough to believe everything written millions of years ago is relevant now and she adores my cousin whos gay, she treats him exactly the same as the rest of us.

in all honesty its extremely sad that a black American boxing champion can be so narrow minded, to the fact that gay people don't have a choice when it comes to sexuality in the same way a person does not get to choose the color of their skin.
