Heathrow official was 35 (95F)

more than likely was 36 with you but it wont be recorded

Night time record low is 23.3C and it could be close tonight perhaps

yes comfortable summer weather here, with 25C average, but still cool nights with 12C so it cools down quickly in the house at nights

Default Hurricane Helene now on course for Ireland

Look at what is heading straight in Neem's back door

Spoiler:

Met Eireann have warned that "very disturbed weather" is on the way as Hurricane Helene u-turns away from America.

The dangerous Atlantic storm is now on a collision course for Ireland, swirling north east towards us.

It is expected to gradually weaken over the coming days with the National Hurricane Center saying it may be downgraded to a tropical storm today, Thursday.

A NHC spokesperson said: “A turn toward the north and northeast with an increase in forward speed is expected during the next few days.

"Maximum sustained winds remain near 90 mph (150 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is forecast over the next couple of days, and Helene is expected to become a tropical storm on Thursday.”

Ahead of its arrival, Met Eireann issued an update saying that while "there is a large degree of uncertainty in the details at present" the weather could get "potentially very disturbed early next week".

Cars/vans are usually hotter, it's a big metal box after all

Temperatures should be recorded in the shade

the car sensor in usually under the front wheel arch and not in the car. As long as the car has been moving for 5 mins its pretty reliable +/- 1C

ngl it's a tad disappointing that in this amazing summer we haven't even come close to breaking the July record, let alone the all-time one (yet)

The 36.7C July one is a pretty ridiculous anomaly as well since it was set in a summer (2015) that was largely poor after that

It's currently thundering, but there's no rain, it's still bright and sunny.

We had our first rain in about 8 weeks earlier (a local forecaster said he thought it was about 70 days but that seems a bit steep to me)

It made me sad
