Flash Gordon (1980) - Great Soundtrack, awful acting, awful dialogue and just over the top costumes and scenery... It was terrible, but I loved it for all them reason. - 4/5

Still Alice (2014) - Really tough to watch, Julianne Moore is such an amazing actress and she did not disappoint. I almost cried at one point. - 4/5

White House Down - 7/10. A fairly good movie.

Have to see the other one now.

..The Vanishing..because it was on TV and one I hadn't seen before...it was actually a great psychological thriller with a seriously creepy Jeff Bridges and Kiefer Sutherland as a guy whose girlfriend vanishes and his relentless obsession in finding her/finding out what happened to her...a very good 8/10...

Deadpool - It was really good and funny although the fact that almost every single ine was trying to be a funny one liner was a little bit annoying, still give it 8/10 though

See, that's not what annoyed me (as that's sort of what Deadpool is known for), the one liners were good - the problem was that at least 1/3 of them (and most of the best ones) were used in the trailer, so everyone who has seen the trailer knows they're coming :/.

But overdone trailers that spoil whole movies are a bit of a pet peeve for me. I'd avoid them but I go to the cinema semi-regularly and they're hard to ignore on a 20ft high screen...

You've literally just listed 4 of the 5 best things about Flash Gordon

#5 being Brian Blessed.

This clip sums up all 5 perfectly.

Compliance - Wow what a crap movie! One of the worst films ever, so much so that i decided to do my ironing whilst it was on so my time wouldn't be wasted! I would give it a big fat 0/10, but if i have to give it any rating it would get a 1/10 just because it got me doing my ironing and i hate ironing.

I think what got me so pissed with this film is that are there really people this 'compliant' so as to not challenge authority? It may be because i naturally challenge authority if i disagree with it, and maybe it's because i most definitely know my rights, but then i thought common sense would prevail, but it didn't....but hey ho at least i got some ironing done!

I saw the film when it came out and I would give it 8/10

It is almost word for word the infamous Louise Ogborn case right down to the last scene when the manager is asked a question and an off screen lawyer tells her not to answer it. (That was in a documentary about the real case)

The manager involved when asked why she did not realise it was a hoax replied that that the person asking did not get that phone call

While you are at it, google Stamford Prison Experiment and the Milgram Experiment

If you think this film was unrealistic, think again, and read the links, it happened, and I believe every manager of a fast food restaurant needs to see that film

I just can't believe anyone could be that stupid as to not say to the caller that they need a warrant and to take her to a police station for questioning, no one has the authority to act under the authority of a police officer, if i were the girl i'd ask for my phone call to my lawyer.

I don't deny it happened, it's just incredulous to me that people can be that taken in, and thanks for the link i will check it out

Louise came from a military family if I recall, and she was brought up to always do what a police officer tells you to do.

As for being taken in, as I said in my previous post you need to study the Milgram Experiment which showed that ordinary people deferred to authority and ended up doing unspeakable things.

Most people in spite of what they say end up deferring to authority, that was the findings of the Milgram experiment. Only a few people questioned what they were being ordered to do. In this case it was only the janitor who questioned the voice on the phone, all the others were taken in because he spoke with authority.

Compliance was pretty good, I liked it. Very weird case but there are probably stranger ones out there if you look for them.

Maybe it were just me then i found the film infuriating!

Spoiler:

I knew it were a hoax call before we were privy as the audience to that information

and

Spoiler:

Who's to say the person making the allegations is telling the truth, that's what i found unbelievable, that an unknown person made an allegation a 'police officer' rings up and asks the manageress to do a strip search really....and more unbelievable she complies

Like i said i don't deny it happened but if this is how easily led some humans are then god help us!

I read the case and very interesting, but wow at the lack of common sense....

But as Donna Summers says, you did not take that call.

The real anger should be at McDonalds US who were warned of these hoax calls and buried details of them in a large training manual. Their own security advisors told them to put stickers next to the phones and they failed to do so, hence the punitive damages against McDonald's, upheld by the appeal court if I remember the case.

I read that members of the public walked out of the movie when it were shown......i have a feeling that one of those walkers would've been me!

I agree Mc D's should've warned the manager and therefore have a responsibility and are negligent in this case.
