Good news, GRRM isn't writing an episode of the show and is only taking a little part in the production side of things this year and is giving all his attention to finishing The Winds of Winter. Rumours going around that it will come out in April with Season 5.

I'm yet to read to books (have bought all the published ones so far) although it's a shame to hear of all the stuff that gets cut out. It's understandable they have time constraints, and we know things in books always get cut out when making it to film. But it sounds like they have cut out some really good stuff, stuff that could fill in some scenes on the show that are pretty boring.

Not surprising considering where we are in the show with bran is where we are in the books, hopefully that means GRRM will have 6 out some time next year

Ridiculous really.
Bran's storyline isn't the most entertaining but it's important that it isn't forgotten about because it's one of the most important in the long run. Should have just spaced him out in earlier seasons when action was at a high instead of cutting him out of the season that will probably already be light on action. Bran/Hodor's storyline so far hasnt been the most riveting but they were left off at a really interesting point in S4 so kinda uncool to completely disregard them for a whole season.

The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, best known as Mr. Eko from Lost, Simon Edibisi on Oz, and the Dark Elf Kurse in Thor 2: The Dark World has joined Game Of Thrones. He was a fan favorite on both Oz and Lost, so it’ll be interesting to see what he does in GOT role. For now, all we have is speculation on that role. It’s been announced only as “Malko,” a new character for the HBO series.
