Dont know if this has already been posted today, I havent seen it on TiBB Though.
Was in the shop this morning and saw this on the front page..was pretty shocked so heres the full story.. I dont think Simon will actually axe it though: X Factor supremo Simon Cowell has threatened to axe the popular ITV show unless the channel increases the budget by £3m, reports suggest. Simon Cowell: ITV is said to spend about £1.7m each weekend on the show with Cowell reported to want another £300,000 spent on ten shows next series. Photo: REX FEATURES During an X Factor final press conference in central London, the media mogul, 50, refused to confirm whether the show would return next year. He admitted that no deal was in place yet. Dannii Minogue says she will be judge on next year's show ITV is said to spend about £1.7m each weekend on the show with Cowell reported to want another £300,000 spent on ten shows next series. He wants more money to make next year’s show “even better”. The newspaper also reported that he was considering staging next year's final at a venue like the 02 in London or Wembley Arena. Cowell, who is said to have been paid £7.5, admitted: “We’re negotiating with the network and it's not about salaries for the people on it - it's how much money are you going to invest over a period of time. "We always said we'd stop making the show when people don't want to see it. "But it's been very successful because ITV have invested a lot into it to make it better.” He added: "I think there is genuine interest from the people behind the show to bring it back - but if we do, it needs to be better than this year." Cowell said changes to this year’s format, such as auditions in front of an audience and building a new £1million stage had brought higher ratings, proving that people wanted bigger and better shows.

Its nothing at all to do with the ratings, there very fine infact XF is one of the most watched shows in the UK on the Weekends.
Its just Simon thinking everyone loved the **** new audition format, so now he wants MORE and More to make it bigger and better which will eventually flop. The sooner he stops trying to make the XF into BGT/AI the better!

It's not gonna get cancelled, ITV's gonna bow to his every demand. BGT and XF have had sky high ratings this year they wouldn't want to lose the viewer's share.

Rubbish. He's just threatening axing the show to try and get more money from ITV that's all. They can't afford to lose a show with ratings that high.
He's just seeing how far he can push them with the budget. It'll be back next year.

£3m is nothing when you consider the show is making over £100m this year
And if Cowell does axe it, you can guarantee that Channel 4, five or Sky1 would pick it up even if it meant axing half their schedules |

Its so annoying and is so messed up and doesnt deserve the ratings it gets. Cant wait until it eventually flops. Its so amature-ish

It won't get axed, not a chance.
I see the papers are claiming Dannii may be on her way for Mel B or Kelly Rowland, interesting too see how that one pans out. |

I saw this on the front cover of paper as well. How stupid? Dannii is a great judge, she is the only judge that does not make the show about her, she makes it about the contestants. Just because she is more dignified than joining in the me me me drama's with simon, cheryl and louis! Maybe Danni wants to leave and have a baby with Kris? Who knows? In a way it would be good if Stacey won, and if Danni leaves she will leave on a high but I want her to stay, I like the 4 judges we have already. Although I think Lily Allen and Charlotte Church would make great judges. Also Katie Price, however not sure if she has much music knowlege, possibly Lily and Charlotte would be better than her. Also I read on a front cover of the daily star I think it was.. that the 3 finalists are all set to make a million each, they all deserve it, I like all 3 finalists, the most likeable bunch of finalists we have ever had and are all talented too! ![]() |
