I read on another thread that they start filming at 8:30, is this true? Because it always says LIVE launch. And when they first go in the house 'LIVE'

I hate to break it to you but there is no such thing as live television. Everything is on at least a two or three minuet delay. It's still virtually live. I don't know how it could possibly lessen your viewing experience.

They start filming at 21:00.
When they say they are going to an ad break, they continue filming while we watch the ads. Therefore after the first ads, there is a 3/4minute delay which grows with each ad break. So basically it starts off completely live, (give/take 1 or 2 mins) but is delayed a fair bit by the end. This is true of BB10 because I can see the studios from my window & I see all the lights go on, and the fireworks in the finals etc. |

And there are plenty of videos of Davina during the ad breaks falling over and talking with the crowd and what not. In fact the whole idea of them having to take breaks during a pre-recorded show is proof that the show, live or not, has to follow the same time transcript as the finished product on TV. |

But the live shows themselves were only a few minuets behind, which changed to 20/30 minuets post-Jade. |

And anyway they might have a couple of the ad breaks because they need to do checks and so on like any TV show. However they could well have been testing/playing around with the screen while viewers at home saw a VT; as they arent actually obliged to show the VT's to the live crowd. As I say I can actually see the studios in real time, unlike many people on here making up rubbish they just want to be true. |

So what your basically saying is it's pre-recorded, but only 20 minutes earlier, and they do stop for ad-breaks.

It hasn't been live for a very very long time. Nothing is live nowadays anyway.

It's filmed exactly as a live show would be filmed, then the feed actually goes out to TV twenty minuets later. That's about it. So it's not really pre recorded, it's just on a [albeit long] delay.

which is why during some evictions shows davina doesnt say "you are live on channel 4" because it'l be 25mins before broadcast

It hasn't been live since CBB5 due to the BB7 final being before 9pm
I think there were even sound dips during the CBB5 launch! Its also CBB5 that the housemates were told "you will be leaving the house shortly" rather than "30 minutes time" which we had before that. |

This. There is an official limit you are allowed to actually call something live. In the case of the second eviction show which is on an even longer delay because Big Brother goes off TV for awhile, it's not classed as live anymore.
