So we really are fucked, eh? I know more about American politics than Irish, but you'd hear mixed reports all over the gaf.

What's going to be getting worse? I know it's a naive way of looking at things but the view from the ground seems to be okay. A bad recession with high unemployment, yeah, but I know plenty of people in jobs and the disposition seems as cheery as ever.

I'm never getting a job, are my .

You're coming from the Irish perspective here....we've been f£cked for so long that the Celtic Tiger was a mere blip on our charts! I just think that politics means nothing at this stage and that there's a conglomerate of people and businesses who are in charge of the whole thing at this stage. We're at their mercy.

We always find a way though, look at us at the start of the 90's compared to the end. It's surreal how cyclic these things can be. Overoptimistic, I know.

Well as far as I can tell next two weeks will be crucial......if Greece as a country announces bankruptcy, we're all ****ed. It's an unkown territory as far as i understand (my dad was telling me this earlier, usually im not clued into any of this, but he got me researching and im intrested now)

Yeah the vast majority of the country is sewn up in nationalist piggotry. We let the likes of Fianna Fail and the Catholic Church walk all over us and most of suburbia gleefully go along for the ride because it's 'Irish'.

The same people who rally GAA communities to protest headshops, bearing in mind Diageo is entertwined with the GAA and Guiness actually improves your hurling ability.

The tagline is even 'guiness is good for you' for fuck sake. It's like priest, pints and a healthy sense of closeted racism is the aul Irish way.

But it's still a great place because the good folk have this whimsical 'ah sure fuck it' view about it.

At this stage Bertie 'I don't know where it's all gone, lads, I had it a second ago' Ahern looks like one of the best things to ever happen to the country. It's that messed up.

Was he lucky or clever when he left the party? I feel he was just a lucky fecker, as per usual.

But nah, you should read or watch some of the stuff about the New World Order. Very enlightening.

Our democratic rights are being minimalized slowly but surely.

I have read it all and I'm not sure what to think. I believe that our rights are being undermined. I don't believe for a second we are free. But the whole sinister imagery of the thing I don't buy into. They are cunts, sure, but they don't meet in robes deliberately plotting ways to undermine us, and they don't feel the bizarre need to give themselves away in the most abstract methods of iconography known to man. Let's not give them that much credit. Just greedy morons.

I'm on the Chomsky end of the scale, taking David Icke to be the highest point of nuttyness.

Because we were 'better informed' this time, apparently. This was our 'informed' vote. Not the first one. Sure we all stumbled into the polling stations blindfolded the first time, knocking over ballot boxes. Thank god Europe stepped in and showed us the light.

We're following suit. The states started it so we followed. It would have been the same thing if any party had been in charge. New World Order baby.

Apathy. It's like Tubridy said on the Late Late a couple of weeks ago. If this had happened in France they would have revolted.

That's the thing. Everyone, down to my own parents, have no idea how much they are getting fucked over right in front of there faces. Why didn't everyone take to the fucking streets when that yes vote came through? The only people making noise were Fianna Fail's little college society bum buddies patting themselves on the back for saving democracy.

We should put all those Vote Yes For Jobs[?] signs back up and they might get just how riddiculous the whole thing really is.

Apathy is as dangerous as the cunts that got us in this mess.

Yeah, I'm with you here, but unfortunately it's very hard to shake people out of it when we're holding on like this.

Speaking of that, Brian Cowens reason for us voting Yes to the Lisbon treaty was, "we're a small nation, Europe don't need us but we need them" I heard a guy on the radio yesterday say he met Brian Cowen and asked him If we're such a small insignificant nation as you say how is it that our politicians are one of the highest paid in the world, he had no answer.
