Here are some points I feel would help make the site a better place. I'm not one to make these sorts of threads because they're usually started by someone throwing their dummy out of the pram - but I think it's safe to say that everyone's noticed a large moron-contingent lately.
The manifesto: - Words such as 'legend', 'epic' and 'fail' shall be used sparingly, if ever. They're beyond tiresome now and they're meant to be strong adjectives, not commonly used. - Before posting in a topic about a current event where there is a lot of grief, destruction or sadness involved - tact should be exercised and distasteful jokes kept off-site and especially off-thread. - Similarly - but also universally - CHECK WHAT YOU ARE POSTING IS FACT. We've seen a lot of examples of people posting nonsense facts (the recent example was the death toll of Haiti's earthquake) - Stop posting threads criticising the moderators. It makes the site look really unprofessional and more often than not they are doing their job correctly. The likelihood is, if you're complaining about a ban then you deserved it. I know I have in the past. - However, the respect should be mutual. When threads are locked, posts deleted/edited or signatures edited there should always be a reason so as to prevent it spreading into other threads (or causing others to pop up) - READ EVERYTHING. Don't read one word of this and immediately take offense and jump the gun. Other than these points I can't think of anything that's wrong lately. It's a pretty good site at the moment...it's been much worse. Not really revolutionary but it's much more eye-catching this way ![]()
