Welcome to the 2010 Series of :: TiBB's Photography Competition

Basically, TiBB's Photography Competition is what it says it is, a Photography competition. Every Week TiBB members will have to take photo's, corresponding with a certain theme set by me. Other forum members will vote in a live show, and each week the person with the least amount of votes will leave the competition, until there is only one person left

Before we can start the competition, we need contestants!

<<Applying>>
Instead of an application form to get the 10 contestants things will be different this time. To get the best of the bunch you will have to send in a picture for your application. Every single picture sent in will be displayed on Sunday the 11th of April and then the forum will be able to vote for their favourite 3 pictures. The 10 pictures voted the most will earn a place in the final 12! You can apply by sending in your photo to me via u2u. The photo must be in by midday on Sunday the 11th of April with an answer to the question What was your inspiration? and have a Title. The application theme is at the bottom of this post.

<<Voting>>
The voting will be a little bit different too. When voting you will have to rate the pictures in order of favourite and then the pictures will be given points corresponding to where they are on your ratings.

<<Elimination>>
Each week the photo with the least amount of overall points will be eliminated until we are left with 2 players.

<<Themes>>
This year the themes will be very ranged and quite open, so that we can see peoples interpretations on the theme. This will hopefully display who is thinking hard about how they can get their point across through a photo and stand out from the rest of the players.

- You are not allowed to copy images off of the net, I WILL track the original source down of the image if I'm suspicious, and believe me don't go there.
- They must be taken by you, you are allowed to recieve advice from others but they themselves are not allowed to take the picture.
- Late entries will not be excepted.
- It can be a existing photo that you have taken, but preferably a newer one would be better.
- It has to be a still image.
- You can't show other people your picture before it is posted.

Rules On Editing;
You ARE allowed to;;
- Resize
- Crop
- Change the image to full B&W or Full SEPIA, not a mixture of the two or any other color.
- Sharpen

You are NOT allowed to;;
- Use lighting effects.
- Blurring.
- Enhance The Picture. ( Change the contrast/brightness.)
- You can not use effects such as, Overlay, Lighten, Screen etc... on any picture.
- No text, or borders.
- No effects such as changing the exposure, selective colour etc..

Please can you try to lay out your u2u's like this (I took this photo myself.. if you were going to take a photo similar to this then don't be put off by the fact that I did one.. yours will probably be a lot better )

What was your inspiration:
My inspiration was the idea of smoking being bad for your health. I didn't want to be predictable and do something that promotes health or that shows literal health so I decided to take a photo of something that can effect your health, henceforth the photo of the cigarettes.

What do you mean by Health, as in someone thats Healthly or someone thats sick?

Anything you relate with the word health Twilight.. it can be either.. or something totally different

You're inspiration comment should make people understand the point of the photo if it is really abstract etc.

I think I've got my idea sorted, just a quick question. Are you going to post the pics anonymously each time so that people vote based on how good the pic is/how much they like it and not just vote for their forum buddies?
