It's the game that popped out of nowhere in November 2009 and it's back this year for a Second Series!

Most of you will remember how to play, some of you will be new to this!

Last year's game got off to a great start but it's fair to say IMO it failed near the end, so I've decided to bring this game back as I've been asked by a few members and I'm also going to shake things up with a little revamp to insure the game doesn't fail this time around!

Here's what's different in Song Star:


*No Categories
*No Judges
*Better Award
*Quicker Eliminations
*Less Themes


I decided to ditch the Categories this way we don't have to rely on having groups and even numbers of people from different sexes.

No Judges, this ties in with Quick Eliminations.
Last year I made the mistake of getting judges, the reason I regret this is because judges became so inactive and didn't bother coming on as much to comment/vote and assign songs.

With no judges this means the contestants will be able to pick their own songs this year rather than have their mentors do it for them, so they are more independent, plus it'll be alot quicker without waiting like a day for someone to come on and vote.

And yes, The Public will be able to vote and decide who stays just like last year!

Less Themes, last year I enjoyed the themes and I think the contestants did too.
We had Christmas Songs, Michael Jackson Songs, Group Songs and so on.

We will be keeping the themes because why get rid of a good feature? But there will be less of theme, throwing in more variety to the competition.

Better Award, no I'm not sending the winner out 100K in the post.
Last year Niamh got an award, some of you may of seen the Blue Star that says SS on her awards.
I was speaking to her the other day about this, basically the quality of the award and style will be abit better.

So that's what's changed this year.


I've decided to have 6-8 Contestants [More likely 6]

The game will begin once The Champion ends, it's never a good idea to have 2 games at once especially when the creator of one game is in another game.

So yes probably around Mid October?

Jords just gave me a new idea to improve the format abit which you'll see soon.

The new logo has been posted in the OP.

It's pretty much the same as last year but has a new colour instead of Blue, and of course as you can see it says 2010 and the 2 is highlighted as this is Song Star 2.


Just a little fact about the logo

Will find out from Iceman when The Champion will draw to a close and then I'll have a fair idea of when to open Applications, so no rush right now

There will be themes, like I said though just not as much.

That kind of happened last year the Christmas part, depends what date the final falls on
