Default I have had 5 hours sleep in 3 nights...

And I am absolutely shattered, but still cant sleep. Though I have given up trying today, because if I manage to fall asleep this afternoon, then I will be up all night

Last night, I thought that with tossing and turning all night the night before, I would be able to sleep early. Didnt happen...

Anyone have any tips to help me sleep?!

I don't want tablets..I already tried the bath before bed stuff, and even lavender Its annoying me so much.

Don't write them off. I am on Amitriptyline (a sort of multi-purpose wonder drug) at the minute and it works a treat. Take 100mg and you never build up a tolerance to them and they knock you out every single night.

I have sleep problems too. This is what I do:
-Hot bath about an hour or so before
-Read a book afterwards for a while
-Have a hot drink. Milky ones are best
-When you do go to sleep try breathing deeply i.e breathe in through your nose and out of your mouth
-Like Patrick said, noises/ambiance you find soothing always help to go to sleep: if you have an iPod Touch, buy the Ambiance app, they have more sounds than I could count for you to listen to on there
-If all else fails, try hypnosisdownloads.com, my Dad has some Mp3's from there which help aid you to get to sleep. They do cost money but they are like the same price as something off iTunes.

Hope this helps!

you need drugs at this stage.

The only way I reset my sleep patterns is to just stay up all night and then go to bed early following night. Do that a few times and it seems to work for me.

You can buy over the counter tablets that are not so strong and addictive. They may help you get back into a regular pattern at least.
