Default Dermot 'clears up' The Sun article on Twitter

'Just thought I'd clear up the Sun story. Bless them. Wrong end of the stick, as always. No 'plot' as quoted... We never know which way the Judges are going to vote. Ever, the only thing I know is who's in the bottom 2 when I'm given the card. I don't know which judge to go to Until I'm called, and the judges, including simon, dont know the vote or who we're coming to next. Its that simple.'

Damage limitation by Dermot (who obviously wants to keep his job)

Because they were running out of time, didn't think it through and just went from right to left along the panel etc etc...

Or - if it was intentional [doubt it], maybe they didn't want to take it to Deadlock because people last year were getting fed up of it every week? It was rendering the Judges vote pointless - hence why I don't think we've seen many Deadlock's so far this series.

The question is - why did they go to Sharon first in Series 4 when she had two acts in the Bottom Two? And why was there no fuss and screams of 'fix' back then? If it's happened before then what's the problem?

Cheryl has been ruled out of XF USA and Fox only wanted either Dermot or Cheryl, so he's probably realising that he's most likely to get the job if he can crawl back up Simons backside

Part of the problem is the fact that it happened before. The implications of NOT leaving Cheryl go last were plain and obvious to a production team armed with the vote count. I completely fail to understand why anyone would believe that Dermot just took a notion to do the right to left, rushed judge tally. Entirely implausible. What's happened here is that the X Factor team has underestimated the intelligence of their viewers - only slightly in a lot of cases, mind

Don't see the big deal anyway, if the public wanted Treyc there then they would have voted for her enough times to keep her out the bottom 2.

I never said Dermot decided, the producers decide the Judges voting order. He just follows orders. They were really pushing for time so of course it's plausible. Did you not notice they cut straight to the last slide of the end credits at the end of the show because they'd run out of so much time?

And I'll ask again - if this has happened before, why wasn't there thousands of screams of 'fix' the first time it happened? Why this time? Is it just because it's Katie? Must be - considering no one cared when it was Kimberley VS Alisha. Funny that, eh?

I believe Dermot here, somethings maybe weren't done as they should have been, people make mistakes,I do not believe there was a fix in any way, just some judges not stepping up to the mark!! If anyone is at fault it is Cheryl.

Seriously Jack? So we shouldn't believe the papers but whatever Dermot says after a big controversy is gospel now?? You don't think that perhaps he's doing what he's told to protect his good job?

Exactly. I've not voted yet, so haven't properly moaned when Katie's been in the Bottom Two. If you don't vote you can't moan - because it's your fault that your favourite act is in the Bottom Two. Simple, really.

The only reason there's a fuss is because it's Katie.

Twitter accounts are personal things [unless run by the management of someone] - whatever he writes is down to him. He doesn't have to write anything. Infact quite often he usually ignores all of the controversies - he even said the other day that he was going to 'swerve the papers today'. Of course he's going to protect his job but I genuinely believe Dermot would not be a part of something that was really 'fixed' - he doesn't seem like the type of person.

The screams of fix, regardless of what Dermot or anyone says anyway - are rubbish. If it was a 'fix' why did no one care when it happened the first time? The only reason people care is because it's Katie that she fell victim to. If it were Paije, Mary, Aiden etc etc and they all stayed against TreyC no one would give a flying *****.

And like David said - at the end of the day, if people really wanted TreyC to stay they should've voted.

As with all things of this nature - conspiracy is so very rare because people as fundamentally rubbish and they tend to fall apart.

if anyone thinks that the twits on Xfactor are running this big conspiracy of fixing, lol, then you need a few more years on this earth and in work.

Indeed. Because the average viewer votes thousands of times, enough to change the actual outcome of the votes
