Three dead in plane crash, Cork County Council confirms

Three people have died and two others are trapped after a plane travelling from Belfast City Airport crashed in fog at Cork Airport today, a Cork County Council spokesman has said.

Fire crews and police from across the city and county were drafted in to support the rescue efforts.

The main road leading to the airport was closed to give emergency services quick access.

Yeah I do all the time It was a Spanish plane I think, a very small one, I think there was only 12 people on board. It wouldn't really scare me off flying though, I mean you hear about car crashes everyday but rarely hear about plane crashes

No, the airport have their own fire crew plus his station would only be third in line to be called after that

Oh yeah it had come from Belfast, was it very bad up there too Paddy? I could hardly see out driving to work this morning

It is strange and coincedene!

I was only thinking about making a mini trip (Friday and Monday off) to Ireland very soon as I have never been.
