Default How much would you spend on Aaron?

Cos there is a lot of Aaron fans on here, just wondering on how much you all plan to spend to keep him in?

I think I might just vote for the first time since Marcus, which was the first time since Eugene. Not this week though, there's no way he's being beaten by that cow.

Betting cartels have as much right to vote heavily in their interests as hardcore fan groups do in theirs imo.

Both are trying to skew the result away from the spirit of a true popularity contest by attempting to drown out the casual viewer's vote.

Which is surely laughing AT the members of the public who are paying what they can afford to vote? Am glad you state it skews what SHOULD be a genuine popularity contest based on genuine fans votes. Manipulation for profit.....not so different to your description regarding your belief on how Aaron is allegedly laughing at the public. Apologies, but I do find that stance a tad hypocritical if betting cartels have rights over the public vote but Aaron's possible gameplan in the context of a game are more deceptive? Either scenario, if we agree it IS a gameplan, the public are being fooled into losing money....so which is worse?

I would love to see 1 vote per viewer because even without betting cartels the system is being abused, imo, by hardcore voting blocks.

That won't ever happen though, obviously.

I think you have got all twisted up in your enthusiam to make some kind of point.

Look, I said; "Betting cartels have as much right to vote heavily in their interests as hardcore fan groups do in theirs imo"

This obviously means I don't think either is good or right. They are the same as each other.

They both wreck a 'true' result, so forgive me if I find it funny that the hardcore block voters will probably have their money swamped by people with more money.

As I was told by Aaron hardcore voters when I challenged the practise as not being in the 'spirit' of the show, it's 'not against the rules', so yes betting cartels have just as much right to swamp the hardcore (just as the hardcore do to swamp the casuals).

No, you have missed my entire point!
I agree totally with what you are saying re block votes and betting cartels....both as bad and wrecking a 'true result'. You have every right to find that funny.
And by the same token, my point is, IF Aaron is playing a deceptive game and is fooling the public, is this no more acceptable and probable of a BB housemate within the context of a game? Is he wrecking a 'true result' by role-playing?
I am reserving judgement on whether he is or not...I'm just asking because you seem to feel strongly about it as the description appears on the bottom of each of your posts.
Personally, I would find it amusing if he was playing BB....I was making the comparison of skewed votes with a possible skewed public perception of a housemate. Hope this clarifies what I was wanting to discuss?

No... I really didn't miss your point, I just do not find the two things linked in any sense, but maybe I didn't answer you fully enough (though to be fair your comparison between Aaron's tactics and minority block voting just dosen't even make sense and just comes across as grasping. What you are asking me is "chalk or oranges? Whats worse?")

So to clarify, just so there is no confusion...

No, IMO, Aaron isn't 'wrecking' a true result by how he is choosing to play his game. Nothing in my sig suggests thats what I think. His pretence is not 'skewing' anything, it's just a dishonest approach to the game. I don't like or admire his tactics, and think they reflect very poorly on his character, but he is playing the game he is allowed to play.

If you insist on asking 'whats worse' still though, which I will answer because I can see you saying 'you didn't answer my question!" etc, then obviously minority block voting is. That should be an obvious given though.

(BTW, the point my sig makes isn't that he is playing BB, which I have no problem with, it is that he is playing those gullible enough to vote for him which is not the same thing at all)

Two very important aspects of the BB contest are housemates conduct/personalities and the voting each week. One without the other leaves us without the foundations of the competition.....so hardly a 'grasping' link

(BTW, the point my sig makes isn't that he is playing BB, which I have no problem with, it is that he is playing those gullible enough to vote for him which is not the same thing at all)
which I elaborated on when I followed up with 'possible skewed public perception'. So just to clarify......you feel block voting is worse.....but you can find amusement in it. I'm simply saying that if some of us ARE being 'played' by Aaron....it does not necessarily make us gullible fools....I, for one, will not perceive this as being laughed AT....I will be amused by him as no-one has ever masterminded a long term plan to fool the public AND succeed before. As I said before, I can't quite decide IF he is playing the public, but the fact I am reserving that judgement does not impact on my liking him as a complicated housemate. In fact, it's the very quality in him which I am finding amusing. Not ALL his fans think he is perfection personified...it's the POSSIBILITY of devious play which keeps me interested and not offended by him.
