CBB of late is always massively overhyped and a usually a complete let down.

I reckon any half decent celebs realise that 99% of the time: it will damage their careers, rather than enhance.

I don't mind really, CBB depends on what celebrities are in it and the mainstream one depends on the characters in it.

I am sure in time we will only have the CBB one on TV but if forced to vote,I would vote to save the regular BB series over CBB.

The irony being CBB is the one that revived it too. If CBB7 never aired then there would have been no chance of Channel 5 picking the show up. CBB7 was well recieved by critics and was the most watched series in years. That series was the basis of the media wanting Channel 4 to continue with it. Noone cared about BB11.

I prefer the celebrity one. BB6 is the only normal series I rate above CBB3, 4 and 7. But doubt I'll bother watching this one

Wasnt CBB7 the one that Alex Reid won? if so I hated that year,and like I care what the critics say,afterall they bash some decent stuff while praising crap.

Normal BB, tbh I think people worry way too much over the ratings, didn't the normal bb get an official average of 1.7mil?

In the summer it will certainly get 1.8-2mil average (due to less competition, school holidays etc) which is enough for channel 5 to renew you'd think.

Tbh even if it didn't, it's surely borderline just under the target for channel 5? To consider scraping a show which is outperforming anything else it would have on in its timeslot is ridiculous imo.

But if more people watched than in years and critics loved it then it was a successful year, but obviously not everyone will have liked it

I just find it ironic that everyone 'credits' CBB with eventually getting BB axed yet it was also CBB that saved BB (although it staying axed would have been less cruel than it going to Channel 5)

BB wouldnt have even been considered to be cancelled by C4 if Endemol didnt bring Jade Goody back in CBB5,the show couldnt afford to have controversy again after what Jade did to Shilpa.
