Does anyone agree? This has been really badly publicised, the hype has been near on non-existant and there's just no buzz surrounding it this time. Expecting really bad ratings on Tuesday

It should at least match last year's regardless of the promotion, will definitely do if the weather is as bad as it was today. It's on a Tuesday, I'm not worried.

Agree with above, this raining holding out could be a God-send for Channel 5! Tuesday's also are a day that (around here) pubs/clubs/shops are dead anyway usually so I'm hoping for a good number! What else is on that might scupper some viewers?

Silk is on and will probably beat BB, but though it doesn't do badly among 16-34s it's not really aimed at them like BB is.

Yeah, silk is the only real competition, and like sid said, it's not really demographically aimed at the BB audience (now it's been dumbed down for tweens, anyway)

It's been piss poor, and the sad thing is you just know that come August they'll be promoting CBB like no one's business. We won't hear the last of it.
And if that inevitably does become the case, we will once and for all know which of the two shows they favour. As if we didn't know already. It can be brought into just about any discussion about BB but still, I have to say I feel there is only one thing that could get the forums moving again... |

I think it's at least on par with last year - Big Brother's on first this summer so it's had a bigger push this time. There might have been less Daily Star bull****, but that's probably a good thing - last year we were promised a live feed and a Ł500,000 prize fund after all.
Of course they prefer the Celebrity series - Richard Desmond's publishing empire is mostly based on celebrity, and it does get about a million more viewers - but if the normal series hadn't worked for Channel 5 they wouldn't have renewed it for two more years. |

Hopefully come launch night we will have a decent bunch of people to discuss. And with it being an odd numbered series, that should happen haha

If i'm honest, I want the launch to fail.
They don't deserve the ratings considering they completely neglected the advertising, I mean look at CBB9. THERE ARE STILL BILLBOARDS UP.

If they don't advertise on other channels tomorrow, then I'm sorry, but they legit don't have ****ing common sense (not that they do anyway)

I don't think the newspapers have much to be writing about.. but there's still no excuse for how much they've downscaled the advertising campaign.
I'm really disappointed they haven't put out billboards. |

i havnt been on the forums much.. iv seen the pictures of the house and the wildcards and been really really excited, and now reading through threads and peoples messages no wonder nobodys excited on here.. way to many people looking for the negatives instead of the positives. I cant believe people are getting angry because of colours of walls or the placing of furnature or because brian dowling looks like an orange. Just enjoy the show!

Why do they need billboards? People know its on c5 and nether love or hate big brother, those who love it most likely know its on already and will be watching and as for the people who hate it I hardly think a billboard will make want to watch it. But I do think that if they heavily advertise for cbb it should be the same fore regilar bb.

Billboards probably just aren't considered a good investment anymore for a show that gets about 1.5 million ratings, it's a bit more justified for CBB because it attracts more interest and almost a million more viewers
Anyway, the lack of build up doesn't bother me as long as it's a good series |

I actually don't think billboards would make much of a difference this year, billboards remind viewers that the show is on if there's lots on the channels above it and get people who like the show enough to stay in if they were planning to go out. There isn't anything on the channels above it for 16-34s (except Silk and as I said that's not really aimed at the same sort of person as BB is) and it's the last day of a bank holiday and the weather looks like it's going to be wet so I doubt many people will be out on Tuesday.
