Question Top 4 Channel 5 Big Brother Series?

It's August. Means it's been a whole year since Big Brother returned to our screens, on it's new home at Channel 5.

Got off to a rocky start with the TOWIE styled Celebrity Big Brother 8, then things gradually 'picked up' with Big Brother 12 - however many people switched off of course, but we had the greatest winner ever in 2011.

The show returned for the highly popular CBB9 in January with a Cosy Cabin Styled House.
Now of course it's Summer and we're almost at the end of BB13 - and the show's had a complete overhaul in terms of look and graphics this Summer, something we've all wanted.

So one year in - and 4 series already [with a 5th one just around the corner].

Time to ask, what is your Top 4 Channel 5 Big Brother Series? Or as I've been calling it 'Big Brother 2.0'.

Give reasons, make your post more interesting fs.

So you want us to post the order of our worst to best? Sorry, didn't really understand.

can't really have a top 4 of something there's only 4 of

but for me it goes:

BB13 > CBB8 > CBB9 > BB12

This year's Big Brother had amazing housemates, really good tasks early on and although the production's sort-of weaned lately it's been a massive step up.
CBB8 again had great housemates but relied a little too much on Jedward and Kerry buzz... I liked the majority of them, though.
CBB9 was the start of a return to Big Brother at its finest but the final result was so overwhelmingly awful that I cannot rate it highly.
BB12 was a ****ing mess from start to finish

BB13 > BB12 > CBB8 > CBB9

BB13 is just beautiful - best series since Big Brother 9. No question about it. I love it and the fact it's ending soon sucks.

BB12 was very bland looking back in comparison to this year - but I still found it quite under rated. I loved Tom, Arron, Harry, Anton etc
Apart from them though the housemates sucked really, and the house was silly too. The tasks were an improvement on the final few years of Channel 4 though.

CBB8 was a change for me, but I actually really liked it. There was something about it that I find quite great - and no one else seems to think so. Jedward were hilarious, Lucien and Amy would of been great together and they were the first 'couple' I was ever interested in on BB, I just actually really enjoyed this series.

CBB9 was over rated as ******. It annoys me how much people loved that and snubbed BB12, one of the tasks involved Natalie Cassidy rubbing beans on her tits.. say no more. This series is a joke.

By greatest, you mean worst.

Anyways, BB13>CBB9>CBB8>BB12 is the correct ranking.

For me:

Big Brother 13-
From launch night, the series just felt right. The editing toned down a lot, and the HM selection Is the greatest in years. Even when Big characters left, others stepped up to the mark. Despite a few blips, amazing series.

Celebrity Big Brother 9-
Another great example of how a series can turn out if the selection of HM's is right. All HM's added something, no matter whether I personally disliked them or not. With some great tasks, and one of the best episodes in recent memory (pants gate), this was how Celebrity Big Brother should have began on 5.

Big Brother 12-
Perhaps the fact that it started straight after another series meant that it didn't have the same buzz as other series have had. Either that, or down to the okay but young HM selection. A good enough first series, it still felt a bit tacky when compared to older series. It did have its moments, and some HM's will be memorable for a long time.

Celebrity Big Brother 8-
Easily the worst of the bunch. Not awful, but hardly great. Thank **** producers got their act together for 2012. Hardly an interesting cast, and nothing was really memorable.

BB13
Best series since BB10, all HMs have contributed to the show as well which is a shocker.
CBB9
Loved the selection bar a few (Kirk, Gareth, Sonia) Twins are tied with John Mc and Jackie as my favourite CBB hms of all time.
BB12
A mess of a series but better than CBB8, best HMs left first but provided some good entertainment whilst they were there, I stopped watching after Heaven left.
CBB8
Did not get into it at all, boring HMs, nothing memorable happened and terrible final. Kerry Katona, Jedward and Darryn were eye sores. Only Tara made it watchable.

1 BB13 - Best series in a long time. Lots of memorable moments and big characters, it's been entertaining the whole way through. Almost every housemate has contributed something to the series, good or bad. The only downside is that every evicted housemate has been great and the dullest housemates have made it the furthest.

2 CBB9 - Best CBB since the one Chantelle was on. Karissa & Kristina were the best celeb housemates ever. Pantsgate was epic. It was an amazing series.

3 BB12 - It started off good but got very repetitive with the showmances. It wasn't terrible, but in comparison to other BB seasons it is one of the worst. There aren't very many big characters from this series except for Aaron, Faye, Harry, and Rebeckah. The rest are all forgettable now and I can barely remember what they did.

4 CBB8 - It got boring after Tara Reid left. Wasn't really a memorable series but it was a decent start I guess.

I'm shocked you would say this Patrick. The Twins were amazing, and seeing them saved over Natalie and Kirk was epic. How could you forget Pantsgate? Andrew Stone annoying everybody? Denise being a drunken mess? Nicola screaming to shred the letters? It had so many more memorable moments than CBB8 and BB12.

1. BB13 - Some amazing housemates and the first few weeks were brilliant. The only let downs are that it peaked a bit too early, the production team have made way too many wrong decisions and a lot of dull twats have stayed at the cost of good HMs. Literally every housemate who has been evicted was entertaining (I have to admit even Arron) but we're stuck with Ashleigh, Luke S and Conor who are destroying the series.

2. CBB9 - A huge improvement to CBB8. Great selection of housemates, lots of bitchiness and let's not forget Queen Nicola of course

3. CBB8 - Jedward were absolutely awful and the series was a bit too tacky. Having said that housemates like Bobby did give it some decent moments.

4. BB12 - Poor choice of HMs, poor tasks, ghastly winner and it didn't even feel like Big Brother.

BB13 has been an amazing series, definitely in my top 4 all-time normal series.

CBB9 was a lot of fun, I really enjoyed the HMs.

CBB8 was ok, fantastic final 3 but I had issues with only 1 round of full nominations and 7 HMs in the final.

BB12 was pretty awful looking back, I was happy BB was still on our screens but after about week 6 I had lost complete interest in it and watched out of habit.

CBB9: Everything about it was perfect. Karissa and Kristina are the greatest CBB Housemates of all time And as much as I hated Denise, she was a hilarious trainwreck and deserved to win. There are so many memorable moments.. Pantsgate, Kirk and Natalie's shock evictions, the twins making the final, Georgia v Kirk, Michael v Denise.

BB12: A house full of boring 18-30 year old models doesn't interest me. The Pamela twist was stupid. There were too many houseguests. The goddess Heaven being evicted over Aden was the final straw for me and I stopped watching.

BB13: Despite their promises C5 once again gave us a house full of boring 18-30 year olds. All of the good housemates were evicted within a month. The crowd is more annoying than ever, booing literally anything that moves and ruining the eviction interviews. There is a very nasty, depressing feel to the house which I don't find entertaining at all. I stopped watching a couple weeks ago.

CBB8: Nothing memorable happened, there was only one round of nominations, the winner was a misogynistic douche... Probably the worst CBB of all time.

I must be out of touch or something because i haven't watched less of any series of BB as i have this year! I've found it extremely manipulated to the point of ridiculousness.
I've never seen so many BB viewers up in arms at the crap that the BB team have pulled week after week to keep certain people out of risk and to try and make the series go in a certain direction!
They're even up to something again this week, denying the people the ability to vote through Facebook even though lots of people have spent their money on Facebook voting credits and now can't use them.

I don't necessarily think that they want anyone in particular to win but they definitely want to try to manipulate who ends up for eviction against each other to maximise the voting profits each week. That's why they've moved the goalposts on this White Room task farce to ensure at least one outsider ends up in the final. They know Sara will drop out (she nearly has already) and either Conor or Luke S will get the ticket to the final and the other one will get the £25,000.

To get to the point..............i'm absolutely amazed that some people still think this is one of the best series of BB!!!!
I've only watched the eviction shows for the last three weeks and even then i've sometimes switched off because i couldn't stick watching Caroline being so fake and ridiculous!

The best thing about BB13 will be seeing the Insiders beaten and a genuine person winning (hopefully Deana but Adam would be cool too!)

So you're saying that the main series is better than CBB when you don't watch CBB? Not the best logic.

Anyways, considering that BB12 is one of the worst seasons of anything ever fimled, I'll take CBB to it anyday. CBB8 was better than BB12 simply for the fact that it ended sooner.

I don't get the attraction with the 'Celeb' versions of reality shows either Ray!

A bunch of Z-listers, at least half of which i don't have a clue as to who they even are, getting paid to try and re-launch their barely even existent careers in a severely shortened and even more manipulated version of a show that barely resembles the once entertaining Big Brother!

Maybe i'm just setting my expectations and standards too high in today's Facebook-esque society.

C5 has been nothing but a complete chavfest well done if thats what your into but im still awaiting the return of big brother.
Towie kyle is not what i wanted to see but its what we have got!
the C5 versions have all failed equally.
Therefore i wont be picking the best meaty bits out of of a pile of poo i will leave that to others.

CBB was only ever a sidenote to BB the fact that its now more popular speaks volumes about the quality being served up.

BB12 > CBB8 > CBB9 > BB13

And it's a shame because BB13 would've been 1st for me, it started off brilliantly with so much promise but it's very rapidly turned into an utter joke and I've barely been able to keep following it as opposed to the other 3.

BB13: Really enjoying this series , think its great, very entertaining

CBB8: i really enjoyed this series with Amy Childs and Jedward, - it was a good start for C5

CBB9: just didn't enjoy... hated Natalie and Kirk, they ruined the first 2 weeks for me, and i also HATED Frankie..

BB12: Disaster of a series.. I liked Aaron in the beginning, but towards the end he did annoy me and i thought the love was overrated, my favourite housemate left on day 57 :/

Overall 2 brilliant series for Channel 5
2 bad ones imo

BB13 > CBB8 > CBB9 > BB12

CBB9. The 2nd best CBB to date in my opinion and proven that is had the lowest launch to final drop of ratings since BB7. I loved it. Great lineup and a brilliant feeling to it.

BB13. In the first 3 weeks, it was the best Channel 5 series, but has slipped to 2nd place. A lot of interest and I really like it still.

BB12. Enjoyed this, not as much as BB13 and CBB9 though. Massive Aaron fan, but the anti BB and BOTS edits were actually what made me feel sick to my stomach, the bias was unreal. At times, I was even scared to visit forums because of people saying such horrible things and likewise with BOTS.

CBB8- Not my style. Jedward were funny at times, but Amy and Lucien storyline was so tiresome, as was Kerry Katona. Tara Reid is the only thing making the series, she left and then it turned quite bad.

CBB8 > BB13 > CBB9 > BB12

CBB8
- A decent line up for the first celeb series on C5. Had some great moments, Kerry Katona nearly snapping her neck slipping on soup. Tara Reid off her head plotting in the garden, King Bobby getting fat Darryn to drink his sweat , really enjoyed this series.
BB13 - The first couple of weeks with the nominations talk were brilliant. The housemates are the best we've had in years. All the bitching and outsider/insider war has been great to follow. Only reason it isn't my favourite on C5 is because they ****ed off getting rid of nomination talk and letting all the good housemates go first.
CBB9 - Was quite entertaining. The twins carried the show and should have won. If I wasn't banned on TiBB for the whole series I'd probably have enjoyed it more.
BB12 - Crap housemate, crap tasks. Too much outside concact (the tacky premiers etc) Too much focus on 'relationships'. One of the worst BB series ever.

I've really liked 3/4

BB13 > BB12 > CBB9 > CBB8

BB13, while the best house-mates (Benedict/Lydia) are all long gone and I did switch off for over a week, it's still easily my favourite of the 4 series that has been on C5, it all depends now on how the final is, I fully expect a decent line-up, because two of my loathed are set to go on Friday.

BB12, I still actually really liked BB12, when I look back it did get a bit terrible in areas, the only things that annoyed me were Harry and Faye going back to back, leaving JayLou in the final

CBB9, If the final was a whole different story, I'd have loved this a whole lot more, Madsen/Shannon's coming 5th and 4th and Denise winning was ****ing repulsive, I had to switch off that final, she's a horrid woman, but it had some great points, it was a decent watch.

CBB8, Just no, I can barely even remember this series and it baffles me as to why Paddy won this series, **** line-up... bar Jedward/Sabel/Reid/Llyons
