Closing, definitely. Wasn't that impressed with the opening, but the closing was amazing.

Both were brilliant, but the opening because it only had one abomination of a human being performing in it (Dizzee Rascal) rather than the amount that performed at the closing.

But I loved them both and I'm sad that I'll probably never get to see another British Olympic opening or closing ceremony again

Both the opening and the closing ceremonies were great. I loved the British history thing though during the opening ceremony with the chimneys rising during the industrial revolution and the forging of the olympic rings etc. I really enjoyed them both but the opening ceremony just clinched it for me.

I loved both but I think I preferred the opening, I asked my brother the same question earlier and he made a good point, the opening sorta tips it in its favour because things are just getting started, with the closing ceremony it's kinda sad.

But yeah, both very good.

The Opening>

Boris dancing enthusiastically to Spice Girls was a definite highlight though.

The birth of the british industry segment in the opening ceremony was amazing....The fat tories dancing at the closing ceremony portraying the death of it....genius.

Closing ceremony was better.

They were pretty much the same thing though... a bunch of people in brightly colored costumes dancing to pop songs, the closing ceremony had better songs though.

My favorite part was the ballet dancers in the Phoenix costumes that danced right before the flame was put out. That was really nice.

I've ended up missing both but from the 5 minute montages I'd say the Opening looked more interesting
