Pretty much all my friends are the ones I was with at school. I lost contact with loads but there's around 5 or 6 I still see fairly often.

18 months after leaving my best friends are still those I made in secondary school (a couple I even met in primary school), though there are some I'm not that close with any more but even then I still really enjoy seeing them when I get a chance to

I still have a close group of 5 or 6 friends who I meet up whenever we're all back home (so during the summer, and at Christmas / Easter)...
But you lose touch with a couple... it's inevitable... but it's okay, as long as you hold onto the good ones. At school I was part of a fairly big group, but that kinda split in two because of differences and fallouts... and I was in the middle of it because I liked everyone lol. One side are the side I mentioned above, and the other... I see when I can... but it's probably only 3 or 4 times a year.

I didn't have any friends in my actual year at school but I still have the same group of friends now as I did then, minus a couple and plus a couple. The important people stick around, I wouldn't worry about it.

I haven't left Sixth Form yet, but I really hope I don't lose contact with my friends when I go to Uni. I mean most of us are staying in or around London when we do move on to University, so it won't be massively difficult for us all to meet up, and I'm hoping we'll all make the effort to so that. We've all been talking about it recently, but I'm just worried that when push comes to shove that no-one else will care anymore.

after high school they all went to a different 6th form, i kind of still stayed in contact with them but not much, was pretty much a loner for all of college and then I have absolutely no contact with them when they all went off to uni, might see more of them now most of them have graduated if they come back to live here, which I doubt they will
Pretty much ****ed up all friendships, but I kind of like being recluse |

95% of them.
If I hadn't I am also 95% sure I would probably be in a jail cell though, so while it was tough breaking myself away it was the right thing to do.

I've also found that if you spend a few years apart sometimes things can change. When I go to the pubs in my village I usually bump into people who went to my school and found it really awkward. Whereas a few years earlier we'd have no problems talking at all.

I think the main reason I drifted apart from so many is that they stayed in the little village that we grew up in, whereas I moved away to get a job.

I still have most my friendships, but I'm part of a pretty large, close knit group of people. Thing is I've made so few friends over my 3 years at uni it's actually pitiful.

All but about 4.
I've never really had a social group anyway, at school or college, I'm practically a lone wolf. Outside of college, it's just me. I rarely leave the house, but I like it that way. |

I still talk to a few but I don't talk to most of them anymore, you just drift apart eventually.

..well, I've lost touch with most of mine because it's all such a long time ago and I don't live in the same area anymore..(..am still in touch with two..)...
..but, with my eldest son, he did lose touch for a while but they're now all at the age when some are getting engaged/married and one is a father now, so they get together more at functions etc and then meet up for drinks for a while after that..so they are all reconnecting and I think that happens as well..just different phases in people's lives..you drift and then come together...and you all make new friends along the way.... |

My best friend has been my best friend since 8th grade. so that's 17 years ago.
If you only have acquaintances that you call friends, then yes, you will lose them, but if you have any real friends, no. Real Friends don't go away.

My best friend from school I do try to see him in the holidays like half term. Luckily some of my other friends go to my college so I can still talk to them.

Despite my earlier post, My closest friends are three I've known since Primary school. Pretty much family. It's so weird how I can't seem to get close to people from Uni even though I made a few friends here. It's just not the same.
