The Voice UK 2013 coaches have been accused of abandoning their artists ahead of the live shows.
While us viewers are only now just watching the blind auditions, the Voice UK 2013 live finalists were chosen some time ago. The final 12 acts acts – three in each coaches’ team – will appear in the live finals in June. But while they prepare, rehearse and perfect their vocals for the last stage of the competition, their coaches are off focusing on their careers. The Sun reports that the artists have been left alone until the coaches return to filming just before the live shows in the summer. “It’s a bit of a sham and very disheartening for anyone who has gone through the gruelling audition process and battle rounds and now finds they’re on their own until the judges return,” a source told the tabloid. “The Voice is billed as a singing competition with personal tutoring from celebrities. “But the truth is it was all filmed months ago on a very fast schedule and now the wannabes won’t see Tom, Danny, Will and Jessie again until just before the live shows.” Sir Tom is currently playing in the US while Danny and his band The Script are in Australia. Will.i.am has been jet setting across Japan and LA while Jessie J has been on holiday in Africa. A spokesperson for the Beeb however hit back at the claims. “It’s ridiculous to suggest the coaches haven’t spent enough time coaching their artists,” they said. “Viewers will see as the shows progress all four spent a great deal of time with their acts.” Danny also rubbished the claims, saying: “I am always available to coach and mentor my acts, even when I am abroad with mobile, internet etc. “I am still working with Max from last series and I’ve written and recorded songs for Bo’s new album which is out soon.” |

I'm close friends with Conor's sister Niamh, last I heard from her - Danny hadn't contacted Conor since the day after St Patrick's Day.
So this is true, which is a shame.

They're bloody unsigned artists, not clueless kids they shouldn't need their hands holding all the way.

Considering the whole point of the coaches - is to COACH them, then yes. Yes they do need some level of support.
