The sad thing is that every single thing on that list rings completely true for me. I've been called Neal, Neel, Niyel and oh holy Christ it makes me want to slap someone my name is spelt the same way it's said.

This one reminded me of a story about my aunt, she'd moved to England, her name was Eithne and she had the same problems as this so she met a guy and she told him her name was Mary just because she was fed up with repeating her name numerous times and spelling it out etc etc, she ended up marrying this guy but for the first few months of their relationship he never knew her real name
