The Way Way Back (2013) - 8/10
Really enjoyed this. "Coming of age" story about a very introverted lad who goes on holiday to Cape Cod for the Summer with his family and comes out of his shell as the Summer goes on. Very Summery movie but at times quite dark, and some "in the feels" moments in there. Great cast too - Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Sam Rockwell, Alison Janney etc. Last edited by LaLaLand; 23-04-2020 at 04:18 AM. |

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - I've finally watched one of the newer Star Wars Movies, it weren't amazing but it was fun imo, Finn, Rey, and Po were all likeable characters, and it was good to see some old faces from the original trilogy. Plus the world of Star Wars is always an interesting one to explore, plus the battles were good imo.
However I didn't like how Kylo Ren blatantly is ripping off Darth Vader's storylines, personality, and even wearing a menacing suit like Darth Vader. And the other bad guy that's clearly trying to be Palpatine didn't work for me either. Plus controversially I do feel like the original characters (bar Luke for obvious reasons) invaded screentime imo that should've been given to the new lead characters of this trilogy imo, it felt like Disney were forgoing quality in this area to appease the original trilogy's fans. Overall - 7/10 Akira - An interesting world is how I'll leave it. 9/10 Spider-Man: Far From Home - A really fun Film with one of MCU's best efforts at developing it's main villain for the Film, there was a little niggle with some of the Peter and Brad stuff being like something out of the CW, but overall I thought that the Film was really good fun with some strong character development for Peter Parker in other areas. 9/10

Love & Mercy - 9/10.
Wow! So it’s the story of Brian Wilson from The Beach Boys and documents his mental health struggles/breakdowns and focuses on two parts of his life in particular. One as a young man in the 60s when he has his first breakdown making the now legendary “Pet Sounds” album and later when he’s under the care of the controversial/vile Dr. Eugene Landy in the late 80’s. Young Brian is played by Paul Dano and older Brian by John Cusack and both act the hell out of this part. Some of the things that happen are unbelievable but all true, hard to believe when watching, particularly Dr. Landy’s “treatment”. It was on BBC2 last night so will be on the BBC Player now I’d imagine - definitely recommend!! |

Four Brothers (2005)
Starring Mark Wahlberg, Tyrese Gibson, Andre ''3000'' Benjamin, Garrett Hedlund, Terrance Howard, Josh Charles, Sofia Vergara, Taraji P. Henson and Chiwetel Ejiofor. After the murder of their mother, Evelyn Mercer, in an apparent robbery-gone-wrong at a convenience store, adopted brothers Bobby, Angel, Jeremiah and Jack Mercer only have one thing on their mind: revenge! Suspecting that there's more to this story than they initially thought, the brothers' pursuit of the killers brings them into direct conflict with gang lord Victor Sweet, the man who may be responsible for Evelyn's murder. This is an excellent gritty, action packed drama that's entertaining from start to finish. 8/10. |

I don’t think they’ll do that ^ the original plan was to create a “Monsterverse” starting with the new Mummy and the films set to follow were Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Phantom of the Opera, Hunchback of Notre Dame and Invisible Man.

Is Elizabeth Moss getting typecast in these abuse roles?

Cam - either a 7 or 8 out of 10, can't quite decide.
Surprisingly good! When I heard the concept - camgirl finds her streams are running when she's not there and it's someone identical to her - I thought it was gonna be dumb campy fun, but was more than that. |

Why So Serious?

Cherry Tree Lane (2010)
A British urban home invasion thriller. Married couple Mike and Christine's whole world is turned upside down when a trio of local teenagers barge into their home, beat them, tie them up and hold them captive. It turns out the boys are waiting for the couple's teenage son to return home, so they may exact revenge on him for grassing on one of the boys' cousin, who's been sent to prison. Disturbing, gripping and intense as hell, this is an excellent thriller that's able to keep you on the edge of your seat. 8/10. |

Extraction (Netflix film) 7/10
Great film with fantastic acting but the plot went on for to long without much character progression but it was good for what it was and very enjoyable.
