"Insurgent", 5.5/10. Entertaining enough as a popcorn flick but... it totally jumps the shark.
Part of the premise of the first film (Divergent) is that there's this long, drawn out, VR testing procedure to determine which "faction" people belong to. This is in a post-apoc world, where they're operating off of pre-apoc technology, and this is a process that's been going on for 200 years. In this sequel, set MAYBE 6 months after the "testing" in the original, at most, the "bad guys" all of a sudden have this hand-held scanner thing that they just point at people and it tells them which faction they are in like 2 seconds. . Then they realise that isn't enough, and 5 minutes later they've upgraded it to tell them exactly what PERCENTAGE of each faction they are! AND some sort of special stun gun that only works on people belonging to certain factions. I mean... just... what? I don't mind a little bit of plot-convenience in a film if it's just to cut a few boring corners, but come on, there's a limit. You can't have them have the exact same tech and procedures for centuries in one film, and then have it suddenly jump forward several generations without any sort of explanation... c'mon guys. |

Went to see..
London Has Fallen - Was really good, Gerard Butler is brilliant in it (and I don't like him) and even through the seriousness of the movie there are still some good funny parts especially between the main characters. 8/10 |

To be fair at least, I imagine, this is because they leave and find new stuff. I can accept that. Stuff going on elsewhere. I just need ANY sort of explanation, I don't even mind if it's flimsy. Like in that last one, they could have stuck in a 2 minute scene where they explain that they've been secretly (but illegally) experimenting on people for years and developed this tech and can now use it because they've taken over. Fine! It doesn't take much for me to suspend my disbelief. I even managed to accept Starlord having a "moment" with a raptor. Why? Because they at least took a second earlier to explain that they imprint on him as a parent at birth.
But no, the scanner... they're like "Oh this? Yeah I found it in a drawer isnt it cool? Zap Zap Zap...". Can't handle it Last edited by Toy Soldier; 18-03-2016 at 09:26 AM. |

Literally only bothered going to see Alligiant because we were looking for something to see in the cinema and there was nothing else in that we either hadn't seen or wasn't too old to bring Luke to see

Age of Ultron - 8.0/10
Does it´s job of being a pretty kick-ass movie. The special effects which are pretty awesome, do help a lot. Last edited by Calderyon; 19-03-2016 at 11:07 PM. |

...Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close...probably one of the most emotional, touching and moving movies I've seen..and so much that I recognised in the character, Oskar...so I'll give it a sad but beautiful 9/10, I think....

Sisters - I wanted to like it as (like everyone else) I love Amy & Tina but it was just rushed, silly and unenjoyable for the most part. Funny moments but a lot of nonsense inbetween. 4/10.

6/10 It was a good movie with some fantastic performances from John Goodman and Mary Elizabeth Winster but it left so much unresolved for me and the end was sub par imo Spoiler:

Kill Bill Vol 1&2 10/10
I've seen it so many times but never get sick of it (hadn't watched it in ages though), 1 & 2 back to back = the perfect film
