Default What is wrong with wanting to win money?

Be it Dexter picking the lowest amount to win money or Sam wanting to win the show partly for the money or any other HM's.Why is it wrong to want to win cash?I play the lottery now and then to try and win a million quid,I don't think this makes me "evil inside".I don't get why it is a bad thing.

People desire such things, but they want to be perceived as morally good obtaining it.

I think is a hard question.
Would a morally good person want such money? I think society sees money as evil, to acquire it you would have to do bad ?

The housemates who say they aren't in Big Brother for the money are nauseating.

The producers should keep a secret count, and any hm that says it more than 5 times through the series would automatically forfeit their right to receive the prize fund in the event of a victory.

There is nothing wrong with winning money, its the way you win it that counts.

Sam said he didn't want the money.

But I firmly believe he does when he had that ponderous look on his face wondering what he should do.

That's partly why I don't think he deserves to win.

I didn't see that episode so I cant comment but I would rather vote for a man with a definatley provable handicap than a scammer who just dreams of chicks, booze and fame. No contest in my book.

Sam often mentions his 'cause' i.e. Deafness. Does this mean he is donating his prize money to Deaf charities? Or am I confused?

I can't recall him promising to donate anything to charity.

Dexter, however, has.

If sympathy vote Sam wins the £100,000 he will give nothing to charity.

if Sam doesn't win the money from Big Brother, when he leaves the house he will make a ton of money for his chosen charity anyway when he carries out the fundraising, because he is now in the public eye and he has made that awareness about deafness. People who wouldn't have known Sam before Big Brother will now perhaps donate. I'm not sure I want to watch Big Brother next year because its making me feel that I am a bad person because I don't back someone who isn't quite as fortunate as myself for the win. Of course I'm sorry for his deafness but I don't want to feel that I have to want him to win because of that. Should there be anyone in future big brothers that are not as fortunate as most the sympathy card will come out again. I realise not every single fan of Sams have warmed to him because of his deafness but a large number probably has.

But BB are the ones who decide how the money is won, you can only work with what they set you and in that instance it looked as though a chunk of the money was going to be leaving the house and right now was the best opportunity to be the one leaving with it

This seems the first year really where it's not considered acceptable to want the money, people might have hated Conor last year but no one really held it against him or thought he was greedy that he (and Luke S) wanted to walk away right at that moment with £50k
