Default 'The Simpsons' to kill off an iconic character

Quote:
The Simpsons is to kill off an iconic character this season.

The Fox animated series' executive producer Al Jean would not give away the victim's name while speaking about his plans for the show's 25th season, which started on Sunday (September 29) in the US.

He told Canada's Sun News: "I'll give you a clue that the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character, but I won't say who it is."

However, there have been 25 Emmy winners for The Simpsons. Previous victors include Sideshow Bob (Kelsey Grammer), Princess Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and Marge's mum Jacqueline (Julie Kavner).

Meanwhile, The Simpsons spoofed Homeland to open its 25th season premiere at the weekend, starring Saturday Night Live's Kristen Wiig as an FBI agent.

Daniel Radcliffe, Elisabeth Moss, Will Arnett and Eva Longoria will also appear this season, while Amy Poehler will return as Bart Simpson's future ex-wife.

The Simpsons airs Sundays on Fox.
I'm guessing it's Sideshow Bob, it could be Marge's mother although she's hardly iconic.
