hhhmm I don't know, I think what they did with Codeine over here was enough, basically it's kept off the shelf and you have to ask for it and then get a quiz and a lecture from the pharmacist before they will sell it to you

nurofen plus is the main one, codeine is addictive and the ibuprofen does the damage.

Codeine makes you feel really relaxed and floaty, it is pretty addictive (ask Marc lol)

I dont see a problem with solpadeine tbh...theres a REALLY small amount of codeine in them so you would have to take like 10 tablets or something regularly to get addicted..and the 5000mg of paracetamol that would be included in 10 solpadeine tablets would probably hospitalise you so you are extremely unlikely to ever become addicted to codeine via those..

Also I feel there needs to be SOME strong painkillers available from chemists, given that (at our doctors at least) it can sometimes take 2 weeks for an appointment.

Yeah, the bloody waiting lists for operations are getting longer too. Give us the instructions to do it ourselves. |

I dont have to worry about this anyway, but I am thinking of others.... My mothers medicine cupboard is like a ready stocked pharmacy She gave me some solpadol (persciption version of solpadeine I think) when my codeine ran out as I had a week to wait for an appointment and I literally cant sleep with my rib pain..and stupid me figured there would be the same amount of codeine in as in my normal tablets, so popped 3 (30mg each..or should have been) only to find out half an hour later when I felt very floaty and weird that solpadol actually have 60mg codeine in each one..

Codeine is in the paramol tablets I was taking for toothache. I can definitely see why it would be addictive.
