...and you seriously think a haircut would secure votes?

Besides, I can't see Jack leaving the house looking like some hillbilly trailer trash. He said a few weeks ago that he had a nice blue shirt and some trousers. I hardly think he would go to that effort only to top it off with a dirty old hat and a comb over.
