Come back to me when you know from experience how things work in Thailand. Sky, CNN and Fox won't be able to tell you that.

Possibly because they don't actually care who they kill and it's all about creating a world of fear

Briton Describes Moment Of Blast

[Four foreigners are among the victims
of an explosion near a shrine which
is popular with tourists.]

[A tourist who was in a hotel directly
above the bomb blast that
has reportedly killed at least
27 people has described
how "the whole building shook".
Former Bangkok resident
Lucinda-Jane Chastain told
Sky News: "It was just this
massive explosive noise.
The whole building shook.
"We all ran to the windows.
It was quite hard to see what
was happening but we could
see debris in the street.
"All we can see is a horrible
mess on the road.
This is at the very heart of Bangkok.]

Actually sometimes they do. Bangkok is very rarely a target (and an odd choice tbh) and usually shrines are not touched over there in terrorism attacks. It's strange because the likely countries that could be behind the attack had people die in it.

Also if tourists were the main target thy would have picked somewhere that wasn't a shrine.

I think all Ben is saying Arista, as was I, that the bombing is very hard to make sense of according to its location and victims.

Nobody is denying that there was a bomb, or that it went off at a shrine, it's just because Ben also knows the East well, it is a very peculiar and unique kind of attack, and no group has yet claimed any responsibility...which is even more unusual.

At the moment it seems as though it was either a lone perpetrator, or a couple - the video footage shows a young man leaving a backpack on a bench which would presumably have been picked up and sited.

Commentators close to the political situation can also not make much sense of it...please see here:

It does all seem very confusing and there doesn't seem to be a clear motive yet, just calling it a terrorist attack doesn't mean that much by itself..

Exactly that. It obviously has terrorist purposes within the definition of the word, but that means nothing without a motive. This is what everyone is struggling to understand.

I still think it must be a lone operator. Killing and injuring mostly Thais would suggest to me that it's one or two nutcases protesting against martial rule, which, let's be honest, considering the governmental corruption IS necessary as a stopgap administration.

I'll stick MY neck out, and say this is NOT ISIL.

Ofc I know no more FACTS than the next person. However, I do know Thailand and its people.

I suspect you're right, it doesn't seem to fit the profile at all for an ISIS attack and I'm pretty sure we'd know by now if they did have anything to do with it

Yes Yesterday Another Pipe Bomb
that went off at a Riverside area (not killing anyone)
lucky it went off early or something
so I am saying its a Terrorist Group.

Meanwhile Police and Army are trying to find this suspect
who had a back pack going into to the shrine
and coming out no back pack.
