As for the shoes, ok that's fair enough eventhough looking at the shoes from the picture it seems that they're being really picky about it, under a uniform pants you'd barely notice that they even were trainers at all. My own son wears shoes similar to that with his uniform and no ones ever batted an eyelid

Rules like that are completely ****ing dumb. why impact a child's education due to a non intrusive hair style?

How anyone can say that's a fair thing to do is ridiculous. It's a haircut, what a jumped up school that must be. I reckon the parents council are a right hoot.

*Waits for the Good Morning Britain interview*
They don't send the kids home at my daughters school, they put them in isolation, one of the girls has bright purple hair it's far better to not make an issue with teenagers, they'll learn soon enough in the adult world what's appropriate and what's not. It's a bit mean to send someone home on their first day of secondary school
That being said there was a super nasty boy in my year with a haircut just like that so I wish my school sent him home too so we didn't have to put up with him. |

Don't get me wrong I would love it if kids were allowed to express their individuality and there be no rules on personal style, but if there are it's and all or nothing thing.

As much as it's a stupid rule, it's still a rule and it should be followed, my school wouldn't allow people to dye their hair, have piercings, wear rings, wear coloured socks, we were only allowed to wear black shoes, boys weren't allowed to have any sort of jewellery, no charity bands or any sort of branded clothing like coats/jackets or bags or anything, it was awful, but we still have to go by the rules.
