He's already said that Rosie Winterton will remain as Shadow Chief Whip, even tho I just googled and she slandered him tons during the election. Apparently calling to 'strengthen' opposition to him. He said he wouldn't use the Chief Whip much anyway though.

Liz Kendall would actually be quite good as Minister for Women & Equalities I think
When she told a journalist who asked about her weight to F off, I liked that.

Yeah Liz is a good politician, I would love her to be involved somehow especially since her and Jeremy seemed not to take the leadership battle personally serious

Baroness Smith of Basildon (Angela Smith) - Leader of the Opposition in House of Lords
Lord Bassam of Brighton (Steve Bassam) - Opposition Chief Whip in House of Lords both allowed to keep their jobs I quite like her personality, despite her policies not being that great. She didn't get too involved with personal attacks like the other 2 did either.

Chukka is going to the backbenches but really he has a wealth of others to choose cabinet postions for. I'd like to see Stella Creasy get a good role and also Ben Bradshaw too,I hope he brings him to a more prominant role. Chris Bryant I have a lot of time for as well. It will be interesting. I did hope Yvette Cooper would have gone for more unity and accepted some role too,I was shocked she has gone, she did say she wasn't the type to take her ball and run away, then it seems has. Liz Kendall is no loss whatsoever to me either as to a shadow cabinet post or even from the Labour party itself. Last edited by joeysteele; 13-09-2015 at 12:14 PM. |

Lammy for housing?
'Mr Lammy: Does the right hon. Gentleman agree that another element of that foreign ownership is dirty money being trafficked through London from Russia and other places, with 3.7 square miles of London owned by offshore companies—we do not know whom—and that we need serious regulation?' http://www.publications.parliament.u...50909h0001.htm

He wants the shadow chancellor job but if Corbyn has any sense he won't give him it
This really is a turn up for the books. All these people who a few months ago were supposed to be the leading lights of Labour and their next great hope are suddenly relegated to the back benches. Corbyn has been leader for barely more than 24 hours and the party is falling apart already. |

McDonnell as Shadow Chancellor is a disaster. Even Corbyn's supporters were telling him not to appoint him to that role because he's too extreme

It may seem perverse, but in a way I'm glad that the people with these attitudes are being brought to the fore. Previously they were hiding away, now we have a chance to remove them.
Will the labour party survive all this upheaval ? Only if it corrects itself sooner rather than later. If not there will be another party created and the party being led by Corbyn will become some left wing fringe thing consigned to the bin |

Fat, hypocritical racist Diane Abbott and anti-British, IRA supporter John McDonnell.

On John McDonnell I cannot comment because I don't know who he is, but if Corbyn has appointed him then I doubt he is an IRA supporter.

And did you not read the quote of his I posted? Here it is again: "It's about time we started honouring those people involved in the armed struggle. It was the bombs and bullets and sacrifice made by the likes of Bobby Sands that brought Britain to the negotiating table. The peace we have now is due to the action of the IRA." |

I have reservations as to the Shadow Chancellor, however I will judge him on what he says and does now, not what he has in the past.
After all look at the absolute shower we have as the current Chancellor and who outside of Labour, and in fact some in Labour, were relishing the thought of Ed Balls as Chancellor. Overall, this is a pretty good set up so far, the previous lot all failed to get the votes needed for Labour in May. If they desire to walk away just because a leadership result hasn't been to their liking, well loyalties to those they represent and the voters that need Labour, clearly mean a lot less than their own intentions. Any new leader has the right to sweep clean the old guard especially if it has been a failing one too, some good appointments here really. I am glad Andy Burnham has stuck to his word as to serving any leader that got elected. Full credit to him I say and a very happy bye bye to the huffy ones.
