I was referring to everyone making a joke of the situation, no one specifically

I am all for jokes, hell I'm sure most on here know I think there should be no boundaries when it comes to comedy, but it has to be consistent. There may be some who'd make a joke no matter who the person (myself included), I'm not trying to determine who would and who wouldn't, just pointing out that for the most part there would not be as many people making light of this had the victim been female.

You weren't the first to make a joke in the thread and I'd have quoted you if so, it was more of a general thing. I just think it's interesting how attitudes to making jokes about serious issues fluctuate depending on the subject matter and the subjects themselves

Like I said, I'm all for comedy, but it has be fair, equal and consistent. Some things or people seem to be off limits at times and I don't agree with that

I totally and completely agree. So many people these days pick and choose what is offensive and what isn't. It's wrong. Either have a sense of humour or don't.

Exactly. I agree. I just hate when people pick and chose things, depending on what a person is. it's not right. It does more damage for equality than good.

I don't know if he deserved it or not, but if you betray your partner, you probably should take some precautions.

well emotional abuse is very destructive, betraying the people who trust you is very hurtful. I can understand why someone who really trusted and loved someone would feel the need to lash out and hurt that person in return. Yeah, this would be one of the things I'd be thinking of if I found out my partner had cheated on me. Of course the emotional betrayal would be awful but there's also physical implications.
