In the world of showbiz, a relationship is never fully over until it's official on Twitter.

And it seems just days after Stephanie Davis and Jeremy McConnell featured on the front cover of OK! Magazine, they've already unfollowed each other on the social media site.

We don't know who removed who first, but we imagine it might have been Jez after his tweet about having been 'a mug' late on Saturday night, before removing the post.

He wrote: "I have been the biggest mug . I'm sorry for the people who tried to warn me. But you live and learn . Onwards and upwards. (sic)"

Jez also appeared to wish a female friend happy birthday today, posting: " Happy birthday batwoman," along with a love heart emoji and a bunch of flowers.

Fans hoped Jeremy and newly blonde Steph would go the distance after they fell in love in the Celebrity Big Brother house, but the cracks started to show early when they ended up having a blazing row on final night.

They tried to insist everything was perfect between them and even talked about moving in together and MARRIAGE, but just weeks later it was all over. What a shocker.

But what caused Jez to seemingly dump the former Hollyaoks actress?

We imagine they'll get at least another cover story out of this car crash relationship to explain what went down.

Mirror Celebs has contacted Jez and Steph's reps for comment.

Update from the mirror - looks like they may be talking things through - I bet steph is a diva though you know - Jez most prob wants a bit of space. Rem he said that they need a break when they gt out and steph insisted on going to his PA's with him and not doing her work for a week. She said this in the OK interview.

After talking about moving in together and even plans to get MARRIED, they appeared to suddenly split this weekend and unfollowed each other on Twitter, leaving fans asking: "What on Earth happened?"

A source close to Steph has now told Mirror Celebs the actress she is devastated about the break-up, and has barely spoken to Jez after he 'went AWOL for a day.'

They told us: "She couldn't get hold of him for 24 hours and was really worried, especially with the recent rumours he cheated on her after a night out.

"He was at a personal appearance in Fife at Kitty's nightclub and she panicked when she couldn't reach him."

How embarrassing. I don't know why they are even bringing public into this (by making awkward posts and deleting follows). It all sounds too dysfunctional. I like Stephanie, but she needs therapy and to turn her life around, not another relationship.

Sam is not winning anyone over either by running around taking selfies of him with other chicks. A lot of spite there and clearly Stephanie has trust/self-esteem issues. She needs to step away from the keyboard/cell phone and catch up on some growing up.

I found them both so interesting because they mimic so many young adults trying to be something they're not. The M word needs to be erased from their vocabulary until both figure out what they want. They are certainly in a relationship, how real it is who knows, but it is a very dysfunctional and overly dramatic one.

Aha, yes the cheesy cliché and trite maxims and quote found on Instagramm. Well that strong man and broken woman bullshine is nonsense. These broken women need to grow the feck up and stop expecting guys to rescue them. Rescue yourself. Proud that my nephews gives these snivelling cry baby women a wide berth when it comes to long term relationships. If these women are used for sex , they are making themselves used.
