Default Hitler would of been impressed

Step by step, the Tories are bringing laws to strangle the opposition, gag criticism and silence dissent. The Tories are set to push through new laws that will make it harder for the House of Lords to block Government legislation.

As a result, peers may not be able to stop unpopular measures such as the tax credit cuts .

But this is not the only example of how the Conservatives are trying to silence dissent, neuter the opposition and gag critics.

My vote was withheld last year. I'd chased them up, even be to my local council and they assured me that I just needed to turn up at my polling station on the day and my name would be on the list. It wasn't.

This year I've kicked up a fuss early but again I haven't yet received my polling card and so I'm starting to worry.

My daughter found out she'd been kicked off the voters register, ever get the feeling you're on some secret agitators list?

Polling card for what, it's a bit early for the referendum polling cards isn't it?

Rules have changed
on households
so its now up to each person to get their own
vote.
Everyone can do that.

Its easy to get a bit paranoid sometimes but for us, I suspect its to do with living on a marina. I don't know a single person on this marina who got to vote in the last elections.

There is no doubt that Europe is starting to repeat old patterns of xenophobia and scapegoating poor economics and blaming it on minorities.. including the UK, i know the UK likes to pretend it had no part in the toxic nature of Europe that lead up to the wars, but of course Britain contributed just as much, even the royal family...

It is starting to look like history repeating.

How sad for the Labour party that it is no longer assumed that if you are in a Union then you support Labour enough to donate to it. What a pity that people now actually make that decision to contribute themselves rather than having to opt out of it.

I don't believe a party donation should be conjoined to union subs, what if you vote green or one of the other silly parties and still wish to be in a union? It's perfectly acceptable to me.
