Default Will a laptop be safe in a suitcase?

I'm travelling to wales tomorrow by a train and I'm taking my laptop, I know you are suppose to put them in a laptop bag but I've never taken it anywhere so I didn't buy one, will it be safe in a suitcase?

Put it in the middle between the clothes so it stays safe and protected.

Jason always has the most logical ideas

I usually take mine in a smaller bag but I did take it once in a suitcase (abroad) and it was fine.

Yeah just put it inbetween a load of clothes like someone else said and it should be fine!

Could also wrap it up tight in a towel or something for extra peace of mind.

So long as you don't leave your suitcase unattended.

Don't you have a backpack or some sort of carry on? I'm sure it will be fine in your suit case but I don't think I could not let something that valuable be by my side at all times.

This really, some idiot took my hand luggage from the overhead luggage on a plane journey by mistake...he robbed birthday cards with money out of it before he gave it back
